The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacobs shoots in but Rush avoids the takedown attempt easily. Nice sprawl there from Rush as Jacobs shoots in. Jacobs blocks the body kick.
Rush lands with a nice combination. Jacobs backs away looking to recover. Rush scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Rush working away. Jacobs takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Rush tries to advance to mount but can't. Jacobs is trying to improve his position. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCoy tries to clinch up. McCoy shoots in and bounces Gabriel off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Gabriel wants to stand and escape but McCoy is having none of it. McCoy drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gabriel dives on top into guard. McCoy is trying to keep Gabriel in close.
McCoy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gabriel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gabriel wants to control from the top but McCoy keeps moving. McCoy working a defensive guard but Gabriel passes into half guard.

Gabriel decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. McCoy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gabriel looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McCoy in particular looking to stall. McCoy works his way into side control. No, Gabriel has escaped the position, nice work there. McCoy looks gassed! A bit of a lull in the action here.

McCoy should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Gabriel manages to escape and get back to his feet.

McCoy is desperately trying to improve his position but Gabriel has a good base and remains in mount. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McCoy can do anything to dispel that myth. McCoy is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. McCoy tries to buck Gabriel off but he can't manage it. McCoy wants to control but Gabriel is having none of it. McCoy is trying to escape the mount.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. McCoy just content to control the position. McCoy working away. McCoy connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Gabriel some visible discomfort.

He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lind's guard. Lind controls Cruz momentarily but Cruz frees himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cruz wants to control from the top but Lind keeps moving. Lind is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Cruz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
