The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot by MacDonald.
MacDonald drops Hanson with a left and a right! Oh, Hanson is hurt - MacDonald dives into side control looking to finish!

Hanson is trying to control MacDonald's posture but MacDonald avoids it.
Hanson is still in real trouble! Can MacDonald finish him?
Hanson is looking to reverse the position.

MacDonald decides to stand back up. MacDonald steps back and let's Hanson get back to his feet.
Hanson seems to have recovered his senses.
MacDonald fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
MacDonald scores with a nice right hand.
Hanson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with MacDonald but MacDonald pushes him off and we're back to square one.
MacDonald really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
MacDonald looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hanson tries to clinch there but MacDonald circles away.
Hanson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has MacDonald pinned against the cage. MacDonald gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hanson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

MacDonald bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Hanson! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Gracie shoots in and drives through. Takanen sprawls well.
Gracie fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bruce Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alves is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Groove has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Groove!

Alves working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Groove doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Groove manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Alves is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Groove frees his head nicely. Oh but Alves has switched to an armbar! Groove is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Burke might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Colette has got the better of the exchanges.

Burke had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Colette is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Burke Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Colette's back instead.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Colette tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Colette has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Burke looking to break Colette's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Colette remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Burke will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Demein Colette.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Colette, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Silli throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Horrible takedown by Pemberton or perhaps it was just good defense by Silli which made him look bad.

Silli drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pemberton gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Silli unloads a knee to the mid-section. Pemberton lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Pemberton tries to score a body lock takedown but Silli shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Silli will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Pemberton up against the cage.
Pemberton has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silli avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Simo Silli has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Micheal Pemberton.

Silli seems to be stalking Pemberton here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Pemberton drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
