1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Bond! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bond throws a lazy right hand but Gotti sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Nice defenses there by Gotti. Bond forces Gotti back against the ropes and clinches. Bond escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bond looks to land a combination but Gotti avoids it well. Bond bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gotti's head. Gotti displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bond throws out the jab. Gotti fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Bond throws a low kick but it's checked well by Gotti. Gotti fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Bond throws a right and a left that Gotti avoids nicely. Bond thows a left - swing and a miss! Bond misses the shot to the body. James Bond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gotti scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

But no, Bond has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gotti but great work by Bond. Gotti looks to move to half guard but instead Bond has passed into mount! Damn! Gotti gets back to half guard. Gotti wants to get back to full guard. Gotti works his way to full guard. Good work. Gotti is breathing heavily. Gotti looking for a sweep. Not yet Gotti, not yet. Bond passes into half guard. Bond wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gotti keeps working. Gotti is trying to get back to full guard.

Gotti tries to reverse the position but Bond maintains control. Bond with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Bond looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Gotti keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Bond lands a nice shot to the head. Bond in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

That could spell trouble for Bond! Gotti moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bond has worked his arm free - good work by Bond!
Gotti has an Americana. Bond didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Gotti is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Gotti hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Corn gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Corn has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bedard is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Corn. Bedard working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
It looks like Jonny Corn has been cut. Corn takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Corn is rocked! The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Bedard is chipping away with strikes.
Oh Corn is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jonny Corn's cut is getting worse. Bedard decides to stand back up. Gage Bedard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Corn fails with the takedown and Bedard counters with a slam - OH, Corn IS OUT! HE'S OUT COLD! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Verdek keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Jarmo Pajumaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Verdek dodges the punch combination from Pajumaki.
Pajumaki misses with a jab, cross combination.
Verdek has a takedown stuffed. A swing and a miss from Pajumaki. Verdek throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pajumaki's waist but Pajumaki gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Verdek off to one side. Verdek feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Pajumaki is trying to stand.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Pajumaki throws a right and a left that both miss. Verdek fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Verdek pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Pajumaki taps out and this one is all over!

Reis sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Paulo Reis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Reis is looking to clinch. Reis pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Reis tries to clinch but Kobayashi moves out of range. Kobayashi fails with the takedown. Reis fails in his attempt to clinch. Reis takes the fight into the clinch. A knee to the head by Kobayashi.

He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Kobayashi frees his head nicely. Oh but Reis has switched to an armbar! Kobayashi is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Takada was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Gracie is in all sorts of trouble here.

Gracie tries for a takedown but Takada circles away easily and Takada counters with a right hand to the body. Nintendo Takada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gomi Gracie.

He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Takada's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Takada is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gracie is controlling him. Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takada swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Takada is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Takada keeping full guard, as Gracie tries to pass. Gracie won't allow Takada to get back to his feet. Gracie in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Gracie trying to control but Takada is working from the bottom. Takada utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Takada misses with an uppercut. Takada keeps the fight on the outside. Gracie fails with the takedown and Takada counters with a left to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nintendo Takada dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
