Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuele Oren! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Ace! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Ace with that takedown attempt. Oren with a poor takedown and Ace counters with a shoot takedown. Oren fights it but they end up in guard. Ace not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Oren wants to sweep but no luck. Oren working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Ace has passed into half guard!
Oren has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ace is working away from the top position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oren tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Ace has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Oren can't escape the position.
Oren bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Oren looking to sit in guard and control but Ace gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Ace is stalling in the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oren looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Oren is breathing heavily. Ace postures up.
Oren wants to hit a switch here but Ace passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Oren there! Ace tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oren tries to lock up and control but Ace gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Ace controlling from the full mount. Oren is desperately trying to improve his position but Ace has a good base and remains in mount. Oren is working hard here to advance position. Oren tries to hold on but Ace pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ace controlling from the full mount. Oren gets back to half guard. Oren is trying to get back to full guard. Ace keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The fighters are battling for position here. Oren manages to regain full guard. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tom Ace dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Ace misses with a takedown attempt and Oren counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ace! Oren sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Oren trying to control but he's not successful this time. Oren fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Ace blocking the ground and pound. Ace is squirming around, avoiding Oren's attempts to control the action. Oren throws some wild stikes that Ace manages to avoid easily.
Oren wants to control the pace but Ace is squirming around nicely. Ace holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Oren tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oren goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ace is on top in guard.
Ace is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Oren looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Oren wants to sweep but no luck. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Oren looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Ace puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Oren has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Ace escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Ace! Oren is trying to control Ace's posture but Ace avoids it. Oren looking for a sweep but Ace has passed into full mount! Oh no! Oren is looking to get to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ace looking to control and managing it successfully. Ace blocks Oren's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Oren is looking to improve his position but Ace isn't that keen on the idea. Oren manages to regain half guard. Good work. Tom Ace has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Oren wants to get back to full guard. Oren wants to sweep but Ace has passed to side control! Oren regains half guard. Oren trying to control here.
Oren won't allow Ace to pass to mount. Oren is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Ace pulls his head out easily. Oren throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Samuele Oren dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Ace shoots and misses and Oren counters with a shoot takedown. Ace fights it but they end up in guard. Oren trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Oren trying to control the position from guard on top but Ace is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Oren is really struggling to control Ace but he's trying to hold on to the position. Oren pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ace is keeping the position for now. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Horrible takedown by Oren or perhaps it was just good defense by Ace which made him look bad. Ace shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ace was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Oren sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Oren works his way to full guard. Good work. Oren looking for a sweep. Not yet Oren, not yet. Ace wants to control from the top but Oren keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oren thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Oren pushes a forearm under Ace's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ace is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hemingway throws a sloppy head kick and Hiro moves out of range easily. Hemingway swats away the attempt to clinch by Hiro. Hemingway tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hiro swivels and escapes. Hiro fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hiro throws a head kick that Hemingway semi-blocks.
Hiro is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Horrible takedown by Hemingway or perhaps it was just good defense by Hiro which made him look bad. Hiro throws a head kick that misses. Hemingway avoids the head kick by Hiro.
Hiro lands with a kick to the temple. Hemingway shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Hiro moves in looking to clinch but Hemingway pushes him off. Hemingway fails to land with a series of punches.

Hiro takes the fight into the clinch. Hemingway tries to pull guard but Hiro holds him up against the cage and eventually Hemingway drops back down to his feet.
Kouta Hiro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Braddock Hemingway. Hiro unloads a knee to the mid-section. Hemingway lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hemingway scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Hiro?

Hemingway punishes Hiro with strikes from the back mount. Hemingway really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Hiro. Hemingway has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hemingway has got one arm under Hiro's chin. This could be trouble... Hiro trying to control the other hand but Hemingway gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Hiro has tapped out! The fight is over!

Benavidez tries to get back to half guard but can't. Benavidez is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Lara off and has taken his back! Good control from Benavidez. Lara rolls, trying to escape but Benavidez keeps control of the position.
Benavidez really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Lara. Benavidez has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Lara is in real trouble here. Benavidez gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Lara is tapping out! Benavidez wins by rear naked choke!

Taalasmaa throws and elbow that misses. Vincible uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Taalasmaa's guard. Nice move by Vincible! The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Taalasmaa takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Taalasmaa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vincible tries to avoid it but Taalasmaa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vincible to the ground. Vincible escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Vincible dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Taalasmaa. That did some damage! Some wild striking there from Vincible.

Vincible closes the distance and lands a one-two. Vincible drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Taalasmaa manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Taalasmaa throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Vincible because Taalasmaa loaded up on that one. Taalasmaa lands a heavy elbow. Taalasmaa lands a nice shot to the head. Taalasmaa fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Taalasmaa cracks Vincible with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Vincible is rocked! Taalasmaa landing shots from mount. Oh Vincible is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! A nice elbow there by Taalasmaa. Taalasmaa loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Vincible scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Taalasmaa land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Taalasmaa stands and salutes the crowd.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos shoots in and drives through. Cross sprawls well. Santos wants to clinch up but Cross keeps it at a distance. Cross throws a head kick but Santos moves out of range.

Santos tries for a takedown but Cross sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Cross bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Cross wants to lay and pray for a moment but Santos keeps working. Santos misses with an elbow from the bottom. Cross lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Santos down.
Cross tries for a kimura but Santos is defending well. Cross stands up and beckons Santos to his feet. Cross feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Cross stands up from Santos's guard - Cross perhaps looking for a knockout.

Santos closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Santos misses with a knee to the head. Cross is trying to break free. Cross has Santos pressed against the cage.
Cross is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Santos pulls him back up using the underhooks. Cross is breathing heavily. Santos drags the fight down to the ground.

Cross had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Santos is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position.
