Dean darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Long slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Long wants to hit a switch here but Dean passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Long there!
Long is in all sorts of trouble here.
Long tries to improve his position but instead Dean has taken his back!

Dean looking for the choke but no joy.

Horrible takedown by Simpson or perhaps it was just good defense by Hittaro which made him look bad.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Simpson.
Hittaro looks to move to half guard but instead Simpson has passed into mount! Damn!
Simpson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Stevens fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hurt, pushing him back against the cage.
Hurt tries to break the clinch but Stevens is controlling the position.
Stevens is working for takedown but Hurt is calmly controlling the position for now.
Stevens tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hurt just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hurt fails to pull guard.
Hurt gets underhooks to prevent Stevens's takedown attempt.
Herb Hurt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Stevens.

Stevens successfully pulls guard.
Stevens bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hurt's guard.
Stevens really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hurt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Stevens content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Hurt has locked up a guillotine! Hurt's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Stevens is holding on here and Hurt must be using up a lot of energy. Stevens has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Hurt gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Amoroso shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Marr pinned against the cage. Marr gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Amoroso shoots for a double leg takedown but Marr sprawls well. He's pushed Amoroso's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Amoroso throws a sloppy head kick and Marr moves out of range easily.
Amoroso tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marr swivels and escapes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vanvalkenburg escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mediocore gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mediocore throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vanvalkenburg works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Mediocore stands up from Vanvalkenburg's guard - Mediocore perhaps looking for a knockout.

Mediocore drives through with a takedown into guard.

Vanvalkenburg is desperately trying to improve his position but Mediocore has a good base and remains in mount.

Mediocore jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Vanvalkenburg manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vanvalkenburg is wriggling around trying to escape.
Mediocore wants to take Vanvalkenburg's back here but Vanvalkenburg is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Mediocore looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mediocore prevents Vanvalkenburg from getting the reversal.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Mediocore feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Vanvalkenburg wants to sweep here but Mediocore controlling him for the moment.

Vanvalkenburg escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mediocore gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Vanvalkenburg can't keep his opponent in guard - Mediocore advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Mediocore controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Mediocore drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vanvalkenburg manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mediocore has Vanvalkenburg in his guard.

Vanvalkenburg is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Mediocore has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Vanvalkenburg is looking to defend but Mediocore has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Vanvalkenburg! Mediocore pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Vanvalkenburg taps out and this one is all over!

Jon lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Gatsby backwards.
Gatsby avoiding damage as Jon throws knees to the body.
Jon lands a body punch in the clinch.
Jon lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Gatsby's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Jon lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Jon scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Jon lands a right hand that snaps the head of Gatsby backwards.
A left hand lands to the body for Jon.

Jon breaks from the clinch.
