1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, TRLC CTRL! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! CTRL misses with a two punch combination.
CTRL doesn't manage to clinch there - Nakatano circles away.
Nakatano shoots in and drives through. CTRL sprawls well. CTRL smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Nakatano shoots in and bounces CTRL off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. CTRL has his foot on Nakatano's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nakatano works his way back into a safe position though. Nakatano drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nakatano jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! CTRL looking to control.
CTRL is looking for a triangle but Nakatano pushes his legs off easily.
CTRL keeping full guard, as Nakatano tries to pass. Nakatano is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. CTRL wants to sweep but no luck. CTRL is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. CTRL scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Nakatano shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has CTRL pinned against the cage. CTRL gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. CTRL throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Nakatano's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nakatano will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yushuri Nakatano. That's going to take a lot out of him. CTRL shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. CTRL showed some decent athleticism there. Nakatano is breathing heavily. Nakatano is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Nakatano is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but CTRL pulls his head out easily. Nakatano tries to get to full guard but CTRL has control of the leg. Nakatano looking for submissions from an awkward position here. CTRL seems to be looking for submissions.
Nakatano makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nakatano. CTRL has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Nakatano to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! CTRL is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Nakatano pulls down on the head and he's put CTRL to sleep! This one is all over!

Aho tries to bum rush Dangerously with a series of wild strikes but Dangerously uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Aho tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dangerously swats him away and circles back towards the center. Aho throws a right and a left that both miss. Aho is figuring out what he wants to do next. Aho stands up and beckons Dangerously to join him on the feet.

Dangerously wants the takedown. Aho is fighting it off but Dangerously persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Aho's guard against the cage. Aho working a defensive guard here.
Aho pulls Dangerously in close to prevent any damage. Dangerously is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Aho is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Aho has escaped and now he's on top! Aho seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Aho throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Dangerously holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Dangerously tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Aho smiles and moves away.

That was a close round but I would say that Martti Aho will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Aho throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dangerously. No luck for Dangerously with that takedown attempt. A punch combination from Aho misses. Aho connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Aho throws a lazy head kick and Dangerously counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Dangerously fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Aho moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Aho throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Dangerously stumbling backwards into the cage! Dangerously bounces back off the cage towards Aho, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Aho lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Aho celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Hawk trying to stand up but can't free himself from snipes's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hawk lands a front kick. snipes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than snipes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! snipes is working for a guillotine from mount but Hawk frees his head quite easily.

Jakhotia throws an overhand right that lands on Paarma's shoulder, as Paarma tries to avoid the shot. Jakhotia throws a shot from downtown. Paarma moves away and avoids it. Jakhotia jabbing away but nothing is landing. Jakhotia throws an overhand right that lands on Paarma's shoulder, as Paarma tries to avoid the shot. A choreographed right hand from Jakhotia misses the target. Jakhotia lands with a right and another and another! Paarma is in big trouble! Jakhotia lands again and this time it's lights out for Paarma! A quality knockout there for Jakhotia.

That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ahokangas's guard. Ahokangas is staying active underneath Strange, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Strange is looking for a kimura here.
Ahokangas moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Strange passes easily into side control. Nice work. Strange landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Strange works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Ahokangas is looking to regain half guard here but Strange keeps moving and retains side control. Ahokangas is pushing Strange's head away, looking to escape. Strange manages to hold on to the position though.

Strange closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The referee asks Strange politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Strange prefers to stall for the moment though. Strange landing strikes. Ahokangas takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Strange swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ahokangas is now in Strange's guard. A big mistake from Strange there, giving up the dominant position! Strange might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Strange is trying to hold Ahokangas in close to prevent damage but Ahokangas has managed to pass into half guard.

Adam Strange overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Strange manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ahokangas manages to get himself to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Strange passes Ahokangas's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Strange has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Strange lands with some strikes. Strange takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Strange is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ahokangas is surviving well by controlling Strange's body position as best he can. Strange prevents Ahokangas from getting the reversal.

Strange has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Di Maio throws a combination. Navetta tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Navetta lands a left and a right that sends Di Maio crashing to the canvas! Navetta dives into mount looking to finish!

Horrible takedown by Navetta or perhaps it was just good defense by Di Maio which made him look bad. Oooh a lovely combination from Di Maio sends Navetta down but not out. Di Maio dives into side control looking to finish.

Navetta has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Di Maio is really squeezing tight and eventually Navetta passes out! Di Maio breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
