The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franco looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Powers is fending him off so far but Franco persists. Nope, Powers circles away and we're back to standing.
Powers tries to close the distance and clinch but Franco swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Powers gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Franco scores with a nice hook to the head.

Franco gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Franco might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Powers has Franco pulled in close to control his posture.
Powers is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Powers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Franco has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Powers drops back looking for a leg! Franco is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Franco manages to kick Powers off! Powers jumps back into Franco's guard.
Franco knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Powers on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jaxson Powers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Powers moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Powers is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Franco pulls his head out easily.

Powers bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Franco's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Powers's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Powers connects with a couple of short punches.
Powers sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Franco's guard.

Franco makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Franco.
Powers keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Franco's head.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Francisco Franco.
I think Powers has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Lighten dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Lighten throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Dee's head.

It looks like Pancho Dee has been cut.

Dee has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Lighten is hanging on to Dee's back as he tries to escape.
Dee is covering up but some of the strikes from Lighten are getting through and doing damage.
You can see the frustration on Dee's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Dee turns into Lighten and is now in his guard.
Dee stands and throws Lighten's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Dee works to advance to full mount. Lighten defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Kane Lighten comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lighten has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Standup will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

All Standup seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Standup shoots in for a double leg but Jackson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jackson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Standup throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Jackson stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Standup follows into mount!

It looks like Jay Jackson has been cut.
Jackson tries to reverse the position but Standup maintains control.

The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Eddie Farnsworth and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rox lunges at SubMan with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by SubMan's hand.
SubMan checks a low kick from Rox.

Rox gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

SubMan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Rox working for a triangle but SubMan defends it easily.
SubMan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rox swivels though and keeps the full guard.
SubMan thows a big elbow that misses.
Rox is trying to control the position but SubMan postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rox is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
SubMan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rox's guard.

Rox rolls, trying to escape but SubMan keeps control of the position.
SubMan tries to get the hooks in deep but Rox pushed the leg off.
Rox manages to reverse the position and now he's in SubMan's guard. Nice work there by Rox.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


SubMan shoots in looking for a takedown. Rox tries to sprawl out of it but SubMan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rox manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rox will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
SubMan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rox paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Rox lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rox.
Rox punishes SubMan's body with a nice straight punch.
SubMan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
SubMan slows the pace down in half guard.

SubMan is trying to work for a kimura but Rox is defending well.

Rox is defending against the submission attempts here by SubMan.
Rox is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of SubMan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take SubMan's back!
SubMan looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Rox is persistently looking for the submission but SubMan is defending it well.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for SubMan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
