The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Gyles, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cage Gyles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gyles looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jones fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gyles.
Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gyles sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Gyles is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
