2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Fatts! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Alyssa Summers and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Soprano with that takedown attempt. Fatts pushes Soprano up against the cage in a clinch. Fatts has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Soprano clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Well, with Fatts on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Soprano is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Fatts connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Soprano to escape the position.
Fatts looking for the choke from the back. Fatts tightening his grip on Soprano, looking for the choke. Fatts is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Soprano knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Soprano for a finish. Fatts doesn't have the hooks in and Soprano manages to turn into his guard.

Soprano tries to lock up and control but Fatts gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Soprano misses with a takedown attempt and Fatts counters with a nice double leg into side control. Soprano won't be happy with that. Fatts decides to take the fight back to the feet. Soprano lands a nice looking body shot.
Soprano shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Soprano was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Soprano throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Soprano prevents Fatts from getting the reversal. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fatts is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frederik Valefar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Valefar misses with a two punch combination.
Davis shoots for a takedown but Valefar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Davis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Valefar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Valefar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Valefar controlling the position easily from mount. Davis is desperately trying to improve his position but Valefar has a good base and remains in mount. Davis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Brogan makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Brogan throws a jab but it's blocked by Bundy. A punch lands to the side of Bundy 's head but he takes it in his stride.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brogan throws a hook to the side of Bundy's head but Bundy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Brogan tries to clinch up but Bundy circles away and keeps his distance. Bundy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brogan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Bundy creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Brogan sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Brogan prevents Bundy from improving position. Brogan defending against the ground and pound. Bundy looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Bundy wants to control for a moment but Brogan uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Bundy is looking for a sweep. Brogan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Brogan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bundy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bundy flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Brogan stuffs the takedown attempt from Bundy. Bundy gets slowly back to his feet. Bundy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brogan pinned against the cage. Brogan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Blaine Bundy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bundy is breathing heavily. Brogan throws a right hand that Bundy ducks under and follows up with a left that Bundy also avoids with ease. Brogan tries to clinch up. Lorenzo Brogan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bundy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brogan but Brogan pushes him off and we're back to square one. Bundy avoids a kick to the body.
A head kick misses from Brogan. Brogan has Bundy up against the cage in a clinch.

Bundy shoots in for a takedown but Brogan shows good takedown defense. Brogan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brogan lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Bundy crumples to the floor! Brogan milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Down shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Dux looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
