The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sturm throws a low kick but it's checked well by Masson.
Masson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sturm goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Sturm swats away the attempt to clinch by Masson.
Masson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sturm lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Masson backs up against the cage.
Masson cracks Sturm with a good jab.
Sturm misses with a head kick.

Sturm shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Masson's guard.
Sturm has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Masson is proving hard to escape from.
Masson wants to stand but Sturm is controlling the position.

Sturm decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Sturm throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Masson's waist but Masson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sturm off to one side.
Sturm throws a sloppy head kick and Masson moves out of range easily.
Masson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Sturm cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Masson is rocked!
A big right followed by a crushing left from Sturm knocks Masson out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Katsuya Tawajiri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Milton Vessey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tawajiri comes to the cage accompanied by Carpe Diem. Katsuya Tawajiri had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.6lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. On his way into the cage it seems that Katsuya Tawajiri has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Katsuya Tawajiri seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Tawajiri throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Vessey bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Tawajiri tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Tawajiri manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Vessey gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Vessey darts in and clinches Tawajiri up against the cage.

Vessey turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Tawajiri off and cradles Vessey's limp body as Tawajiri celebrates with his corner.

Perant is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Perant takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Haze shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Haze showed some decent athleticism there.
Tracode looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Haze seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Haze is trying to control the action in half guard but Tracode is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Haze connects with a nice short shot to Tracode's temple.
