The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams gets in close and instigates a clinch. Williams throws a knee to the head but misses.
Thunder tries to pull guard but Williams holds him up against the cage and eventually Thunder drops back down to his feet.
Thunder goes for a takedown in the clinch but Williams prevents it.

Strangler shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hamels as he avoids it easily. Hamels ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Danga de danga de dang - Hamels scores with a four punch combination!
It looks like New York Strangler has been cut. Strangler misses with a takedown attempt - Hamels sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A combination from Hamels does no damage. Strangler has a takedown stuffed. Cole Hamels has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of New York Strangler. Strangler shoots for a takedown but Hamels saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Hamels scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Strangler doesn't seem bothered though. Hamels throws a series of punches but Strangler moves out of range. Hamels misses with a wild combination.

Hamels parries the strikes from Strangler easily there. Strangler is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hamels to escape.
Strangler wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hamels, who protects the arm well. Hamels is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Strangler has just dragged him back down to the mat. Strangler lands an elbow. Strangler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Strangler is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hamels knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Hamels is trying to get back to his feet. Hamels tries to bum rush Strangler with a series of wild strikes but Strangler uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Hamels throws a right hand that Strangler ducks under and follows up with a left that Strangler also avoids with ease. Strangler shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Strangler showed some decent athleticism there. Hamels pushes Strangler off looking to stand but Strangler dives back in and keeps control.

Strangler shoots in for a takedown but Hamels shows good takedown defense. Strangler looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Strangler darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Strangler slips a nice elbow through Hamels's hands, connecting with Hamels's forehead. Strangler missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Hamels is defending against the submission attempts here by Strangler.
Strangler works his way into side control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Strangler tries to move into full mount but can't pass Hamels's legs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Strangler drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hamels manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Strangler has Hamels in his guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Strangler is on top in guard.

Strangler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hamels swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hamels utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Strangler is pressing down on Hamels's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hamels is holding on for now. Nice strikes from Strangler there. Hamels won't allow Strangler to pass to mount. Strangler moves into full mount! Hamels won't be happy about that! Hamels is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Strangler wants to control the pace but Hamels is squirming around nicely. Strangler swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hamels is now in Strangler's guard. A big mistake from Strangler there, giving up the dominant position! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
New York Strangler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on New York Strangler's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Strangler shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hamels's guard. Hamels wants to get back to his feet but Strangler is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Strangler forces his way into half guard. Strangler scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Hamels is not content to let Strangler control the position. Strangler takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Hamels avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Strangler. Strangler looks to land a strike but Hamels avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Strangler won't allow Hamels to get back to his feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Strangler drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hamels looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hamels looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hamels!
That's one minute gone in the round. Strangler wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Hamels has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Strangler's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Strangler is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Hamels!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knopfler throws a big shot that misses. Xander Adams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Knopfler looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Adams drives through with a takedown into guard. Adams trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Adams pushes down on Knopfler's leg and manages to get into half guard. Adams is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Knopfler! Adams is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Knopfler is surviving well by controlling Adams's body position as best he can. Adams fails to take his opponent's back. Adams jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Knopfler manages to avoid the submission attempt. Knopfler is being controlled here. Adams could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. You can see the frustration on Knopfler's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Adams works to advance to full mount. Knopfler defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knopfler wants to hold on but Adams pushes him away. Adams tries to control but Knopfler wriggling away. Adams is working for a guillotine from mount but Knopfler frees his head quite easily.
Adams is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Adams!

Nice uppercut there from Brown. Brown throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Brown drops Knight with a beautiful combination! Knight stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Brown is looking for the KO!
Knight is rocked! Brown keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Knight is still on wobbly legs! Can Brown finish him? Both fighters circling a little - Knight finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Brown lands with a nice body punch. Brown closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Knight to the mat! Knight manages to get full guard. Brown looking to pass the guard. Brown wants to control from the top but Knight keeps moving. Brown throws and elbow that misses. Knight uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Brown's guard. Nice move by Knight! Knight seems to have recovered his senses. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brown is on top in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brown stands up and waves to Knight to follow him. Brown tries to keep at a distance but Knight has taken the fight into the clinch.

Knight bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Brown tries to escape but Knight is in control. Brown is breathing heavily. Knight avoids the strikes from the bottom by Brown. Knight wants to control but Brown is keeping him busy. Brown can't do much from the bottom here. Brown is trying to improve his position. Knight decides to stand back up. Knight steps back and let's Brown get back to his feet. Brown has a takedown stuffed. Knight feints and as Brown raises his hands in defense, Knight changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown is striking but Knight is not phased and passes to half guard. Brown has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Knight is working away from the top position though. Brown wants to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Brown throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Knight colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Brown as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Knight is left battered and dazed whilst Brown and his camp cheer!
