Undercard bout

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Philip Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lil Mac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Lil Mac was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooh a lovely combination from Power sends Mac down but not out. Power dives into side control looking to finish.

Mac is rocked!
Mac is trying to work for a sweep but Power has mounted him!
Mac is still in real trouble! Can Power finish him?

Power is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Mac fails in his attempt to clinch.
Power throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mac slips a jab and a cross from Power.
Mac seems to have recovered his senses.
Mac lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

It looks like Philip Power has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Power tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Power lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Mac can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Power and Mac drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Power.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Moore! Mata is out on his feet! Moore rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Mata is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Mata is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Streight Up Menace kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The key to victory for Mikko Rujonen has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Rujonen is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Gracie's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Gracie working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Gracie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rujonen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Rujonen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close round but I would say that Mikko Rujonen will probably get the nod.
