2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alvaro Basurto! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mako, as that shot connected.
Basurto tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mako swivels and escapes. Basurto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mako tries to avoid it but Basurto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mako to the ground. Mako escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Mako lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Basurto closes the distance and clinches. Basurto is working Mako over against the cage. Mako fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Basurto pulls guard. Mako wants to stand and escape but instead Basurto has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Mako might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Basurto wants to control from the top but Mako keeps moving. Mako working for a triangle but Basurto defends it easily.
Mako wants to stand but Basurto is controlling the position. Mako manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's one minute gone in the round. Mako can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Basurto is looking to escape. Mako is working for a guillotine from mount but Basurto frees his head quite easily.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Sanchez trying to control the position but Yamamoto is working away. Yamamoto wants to control but Sanchez postures up. Sanchez cracks Yamamoto with an elbow. That is naaassty. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sanchez tries to advance position but instead Yamamoto slips a leg back in to half guard. Sanchez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Yamamoto keeps working. Sanchez is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

He's got his arms around Yamamoto's waist but Yamamoto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sanchez off to one side. Yamamoto throws a combination. Sanchez tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Sanchez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yamamoto as he jumps to the side. A good leg kick by Yamamoto. Yamamoto paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Sanchez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Yamamoto cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Sanchez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Yamamoto counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sanchez thinking.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sanchez misses with a takedown attempt and Yamamoto counters with a shoot takedown. Sanchez fights it but they end up in guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sanchez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Yamamoto can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Yamamoto must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Sanchez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

And that's the end of the fight! Kanye Yamamoto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Yamamoto has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Sorenson. Maguire is trying to improve his position. Sorenson slows the pace down. Sorenson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Sorenson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Maguire sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Sorenson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Sorenson tries to advance to mount but Maguire denies him.

LaFleche seems to be working for a kimura but Hazard defends the submission attempt. LaFleche has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. LaFleche not landing any meaningful shots this time. LaFleche tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hazard knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Samsonov lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lipps has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lipps and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Samsonov throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lipps stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Lipps avoids the head kick by Samsonov.

Vik throws a nice looking combination but Castro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Vik takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Vik misses with a series of wild punches.

Castro bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. This has been an exciting period of action! Castro throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Castro swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Vik counters with a series of strikes that sends Castro to the canvas! Vik follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!
Castro is rocked! Vik gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Castro is still on wobbly legs! Can Vik finish him? Vik blocks a jab. Vik blocks a head kick by Castro.
Castro moves in looking to clinch but Vik pushes him off. Castro seems to have recovered his senses. Vik tries to bum rush Castro with a series of wild strikes but Castro uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Castro slips a straight right by Vik. A jab from Castro misses. Castro throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Vik fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Castro showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Vik.

Mik Vik is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vik throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Castro. Vik looks to land a combination but Castro avoids it well. Castro fails in his attempt to clinch. Castro scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Castro throws a series of strikes that have Vik backpedaling.
Castro might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Vik swinging wilding here.

On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Vik falls off balance throwing a combination
