Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fingers McTwist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boris Szlego (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boris Szlego told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fingers McTwist! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Boris Szlego! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Reed Andrews and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Szlego shoots in looking for a takedown. McTwist tries to sprawl out of it but Szlego keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. McTwist manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. McTwist darts in and clinches Szlego up against the ropes. McTwist goes for a takedown in the clinch but Szlego prevents it.
Szlego tries to pull guard but McTwist holds him up against the ropes and eventually Szlego drops back down to his feet.
Szlego drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fingers McTwist has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Boris Szlego. Szlego prevents a takedown attempt there.
Szlego is looking to break free of the clinch but McTwist has double underhooks. Szlego drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McTwist gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Szlego misses with a punch on the inside.
Come on McTwist - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Szlego keeps control of McTwist as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Szlego fails to pull guard.
McTwist jumps guard but Szlego stands there with McTwist around his waist. McTwist gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
McTwist is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Szlego is keeping busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Szlego drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McTwist gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Szlego tries to pull guard but McTwist won't allow it.

McTwist wants the takedown. Szlego is fighting it off but McTwist persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Szlego's guard against the ropes. McTwist is breathing heavily. Szlego manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McTwist manages to get himself to full guard.
Szlego wants to stand but McTwist has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. McTwist doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
McTwist keeping moving, preventing Szlego from controlling successfully. Szlego won't allow McTwist to sweep him here. Szlego throws a big right hand that misses. Szlego thows a big elbow that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Szlego trying to control but McTwist is working from the bottom. Szlego wants to pass the guard but McTwist is keeping the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Szlego scores with the left hand. McTwist knows he should have avoided that one. Szlego tries to clinch up. Szlego swinging wilding here.
Szlego shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McTwist pinned against the cage. McTwist gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. McTwist swinging wilding here.
Szlego shoots in and drives through. McTwist sprawls well. Nice takedown defense from McTwist. No joy for Szlego on that attempt. Szlego tries to clinch but McTwist moves out of range. Szlego has a takedown stuffed. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fingers McTwist dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
McTwist closes the distance but Szlego moves to the side and Szlego counters with a left and a right that stings McTwist. McTwist tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A head kick misses from Szlego. Szlego looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Szlego tries for a takedown but McTwist sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Fingers McTwist seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Szlego looks for a takedown but McTwist sprawls well. Fingers McTwist has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Boris Szlego. Horrible takedown by McTwist or perhaps it was just good defense by Szlego which made him look bad. McTwist keeps the fight on the outside. McTwist shoots for a double leg takedown but Szlego sprawls well. He's pushed McTwist's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Szlego doesn't succeed with the takedown and McTwist counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by McTwist. Szlego tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McTwist just stands there and leans against the ropes. Szlego is breathing heavily. McTwist is working for takedown but Szlego is calmly controlling the position for now. Szlego tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McTwist smiles and moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round. McTwist throws a lazy head kick and Szlego counters by moving into the clinch. Szlego has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. McTwist avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Szlego throws a knee to the head but misses.
Szlego prevents a body shot from McTwist. McTwist blocking some punches.
McTwist dodges an elbow strike from Szlego.
Szlego jumps guard and drags McTwist to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Szlego had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. McTwist is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Szlego Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take McTwist's back instead. I really don't envy McTwist right now.
Szlego is not going to allow McTwist to sit and survive in this position. McTwist is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Szlego gets his hands free as McTwist looks to control. McTwist manages to reverse the position and now he's in Szlego's guard. Nice work there by McTwist.
Szlego is looking to stand back up but McTwist counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Szlego. McTwist stands up and we're back to a striking position. McTwist checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Fingers McTwist is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Szlego misses with a head kick.
Horrible takedown by McTwist or perhaps it was just good defense by Szlego which made him look bad. Szlego shoots for a double leg takedown but McTwist sprawls well. He's pushed Szlego's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Szlego fails with the takedown and McTwist counters with a nice double leg into guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Szlego looking to sweep here. No luck so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McTwist passes into half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! McTwist perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. McTwist wants to pass the guard but Szlego is defending well. Szlego is trying to control but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McTwist controlling the pace. Szlego really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McTwist. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McTwist is tying to control. Szlego wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. McTwist is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Szlego is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. McTwist keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. McTwist decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McTwist postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Szlego to stand up. McTwist looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Szlego! McTwist throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
And that's the end of the fight! Fingers McTwist showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for McTwist, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marks tries to clinch up. Bernie looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Marks pushes Bernie up against the ropes in a clinch. Marks gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Bernie gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Marks.

Bernie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Marks is keeping the position for now. Bernie trying to control the position from guard on top but Marks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Bernie passes Marks's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marks is trying to escape back to his feet but Bernie uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Marks is looking for a sweep. Bernie stands up. Marks wants to clinch but Bernie slips to the side and Bernie counters by clinching up. A short uppercut from Marks. Bernie avoiding damage as Marks throws knees to the body.
Bernie breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Marks moves in looking to clinch but Bernie pushes him off. Bernie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Bernie takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bernie trying to control from half guard but Marks is working away. Bernie throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Marks wants to improve his position but Bernie is controlling well.
Bernie looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Marks trying to control but Bernie postures up.
And that's the end of the fight! Bad Boy Bernie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Bernie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Yannick tries to keep at a distance but Romano has taken the fight into the clinch. Romano is trying to trip Yannick. He has hold of a leg but Yannick is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Romano persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Yannick wants to improve his position here. There's a bit of a scramble and Romano has taken Yannick's back! He's locked on a rear naked choke here and Yannick has been forced to tap!
