The bell rings for round one and we are underway! sansone tries for a takedown but Whiteblade sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. sansone misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
sansone shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Whiteblade as he jumps to the side. sansone tries to keep at a distance but Whiteblade has taken the fight into the clinch. sansone misses with the head strike.

sansone tries to close the distance and clinch but Whiteblade swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Whiteblade rushes sansone and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. sansone tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Whiteblade smiles and moves away.

license fails to land the takedown. license shoots in for a takedown but Kilgore shows good takedown defense. license looks to land a combination but Kilgore avoids it well. Kilgore drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. license taking punishment in the form of punches.

Kenny slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Dingo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kenny passes into half guard. Dingo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Glenn Kenny overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Dingo working for a triangle but Kenny defends it easily.

The crowd applauds. Dingo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kenny moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Kenny fails with the takedown. Dingo closes the distance and clinches. Kenny pulls Dingo into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kenny decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Kenny trying to control from half guard but Dingo is working away. Kenny decides to stand and escape the position. Dingo gets caught flat footed, as Kenny shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Kenny controls from within his opponent's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dingo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kenny gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Pinky had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Venus is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pinky Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Venus's back instead. Pinky controlling the position well here. Venus rolled but Pinky kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Freddie Venus. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schulze connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Schulze shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Samuelson but Samuelson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Samuelson drives through with a takedown into guard. Schulze is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Schulze throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Schulze keeping moving, preventing Samuelson from controlling successfully. Samuelson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Samuelson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Samuelson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Samuelson looking to pass the guard. Samuelson is trying to control the action in half guard but Schulze is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Schulze throws a right hand that Samuelson ducks under and follows up with a left that Samuelson also avoids with ease. Samuelson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Schulze wants to stand and escape but Samuelson is having none of it. Samuelson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Samuelson is looking to take a break and control but Schulze is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
