1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joseph Watson! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Watson instigates a clinch. Merle is trying to break free. Watson wants to get back to striking at distance but Merle won't allow it.

Watson manages to break the clinch.
Merle tries to clinch and Watson counters with a head kick. Merle misses with a takedown and Watson counters with a leg kick. Merle takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Merle misses with a jab to the body
and Watson counters with a body kick. Merle with a lazy takedown attempt and Watson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Watson forces Merle back against the cage and clinches. Watson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Merle breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Merle tries to clinch but Watson moves away and Watson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Merle is breathing heavily. Merle swings and misses with a shot to the body and Watson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Merle's knee momentarily. Watson gets a clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Watson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Esta Merle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Merle tries to clinch and Watson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Merle takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Watson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Watson decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Watson clinches. Merle lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Watson. Merle pulls guard successfully.

Merle tries to close the distance and clinch up but Watson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Merle wants to clinch. Merle is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Watson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Esta Merle. That's going to take a lot out of him. Watson circles away from the clinch attempt and Watson counters with a slapping leg kick. Merle wants to clinch and Watson counters with a slapping leg kick. Watson clobbers Merle with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Merle with a lazy takedown attempt and Watson counters with a thumping low kick. Watson throws a nice inside leg kick. Merle darts in trying to clinch and Watson finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Watson lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Merle misses with a lunging right hand
and Watson counters with an outside leg kick.
Merle has a takedown stuffed. Merle closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Watson is looking to break free of the clinch but Merle has double underhooks. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Merle misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Watson.
Merle is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Merle breaks the clinch.
Merle moves in looking to clinch but Watson pushes him off. Merle tries to clinch but Watson moves away and Watson counters with a left to the body. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Korgen throws a body punch but Ctetzka moves out of range. Korgen stuffs the takedown attempt from Ctetzka. Ctetzka gets slowly back to his feet. Korgen looks to land a combination but Ctetzka avoids it well. Korgen thuds his right hand into Ctetzka's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
It looks like Belgus Ctetzka has been cut. Korgen misses with a looping left. Ctetzka shoots in and drives through. Korgen sprawls well. Ctetzka drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Korgen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoi shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hoi showed some decent athleticism there. Stuber blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hoi. Stuber controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Hoi has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hoi punishing his opponent with strikes.

But Stuber has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Stuber! Stuber controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hoi misses with a takedown and Stuber counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hoi won't be happy with that. Stuber gets to mount! Hoi was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Hoi keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hoi is trying to reverse the position but instead Stuber has taken his back - oops! Stuber is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Stuber has the hooks in. Hoi is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Stuber pulls Hoi in close to prevent any damage. Hoi tries to free his leg and advance position but Stuber is retaining full guard. Stuber pulls Hoi in to control the position. Hoi passes easily into side control. Nice work. Hoi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Stuber is looking to reverse the position. Stuber struggling a bit here. Hoi has knee on belly momentarily but Stuber bucks him off and regains half guard. Hoi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

It looks like shane carwin has been cut. Doom connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Good standup being displayed there by Doom as he connects with a hook.

That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Oh, that's a big right hand from Doom and carwin goes tumbling to the canvas! Doom follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard. Oh carwin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! carwin is refusing to be controlled, as Doom sits in half guard. Doom scoring with strikes to the body and head. Doom looks up at the clock and then as carwin takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Doom smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Doom in side control lands a decent elbow. carwin tries to improve position but can't. carwin is trying to buck Doom off. Doom scoring with punches from side control. carwin looks to move to half guard but instead Doom has passed into mount! Damn!

Doom working carwin over with strikes here. carwin taking shots to the head. Doom pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Doom loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have carwin scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Doom land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Doom stands and salutes the crowd.
