1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Calavar! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Calavar looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Calavar misses with a two punch combination.
Pewterschmidt slips a jab and a cross from Calavar.
Calavar throws a right and a left that Pewterschmidt avoids nicely. Pewterschmidt cracks Calavar with a right hand to the side of the head. Calavar tries to clinch but Pewterschmidt is having none of it. Pewterschmidt shoots in and drives through. Calavar sprawls well. Calavar doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Calavar throws a sloppy body shot
letting Pewterschmidt counter with a right hand. Pewterschmidt shoots in for a double leg but Calavar sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. A solid leg kick lands there for Calavar.
Calavar swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pewterschmidt counters with a one-two to the body. Calavar pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Calavar dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Pewterschmidt. That did some damage! Pewterschmidt will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carter Pewterschmidt. That's going to take a lot out of him. Calavar falls off balance throwing a combination
and Pewterschmidt counters with a nice double leg into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Calavar looks gassed! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Calavar wants to stand but Pewterschmidt is controlling the position. Pewterschmidt advances to half guard. Pewterschmidt tries to pass to full mount but Calavar defends it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pewterschmidt looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Calavar with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Calavar wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pewterschmidt is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Calavar! Pewterschmidt working for a submission but Calavar is keeping him at bay. Calavar wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Calavar is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calavar has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Pewterschmidt cracks Calavar with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Calavar from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Pewterschmidt sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Calavar taps out!

I think Goldman might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Thunder Kiss 65. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goldman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Goldman fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. A punch combination from Goldman misses. Andersson fails to land the takedown. Nice takedown defense from Goldman. No joy for Andersson on that attempt. Mort Goldman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. and Goldman counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Goldman. Goldman is looking to work some ground and pound but Andersson has wrist control. Andersson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Goldman. Goldman trying to control the position from guard on top but Andersson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Goldman wants to pass the guard but Andersson is keeping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Andersson is trying to keep Goldman in close.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goldman with a flurry of punches that miss. Goldman advances position into side control! Goldman misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Andersson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Goldman holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Goldman manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Goldman trying to keep a closed guard but Andersson is proving a slippery customer.
Andersson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Andersson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Andersson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Andersson looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Goldman keeping moving, preventing Andersson from controlling successfully. Goldman looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Goldman has his feet on Andersson's thighs here. He's pushed Andersson off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Andersson screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Jimenez slips a jab from Ware. Ware throws a looping overhand right but Jimenez ducks down to avoid it. Jimenez tries for a takedown but Ware sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Ware with a lazy takedown attempt and Jimenez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ware! Jimenez looks gassed! Ware is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Jimenez trying to control but Ware is having none of it. Ware is wriggling around trying to escape.
Ware manages to regain half guard. Good work. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jimenez trying to advance position but Ware counters by regaining guard.

Jimenez wants to control from the top but Ware keeps moving. Jimenez forces his way into half guard. Ware slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ware looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Ware has a closed guard, preventing Jimenez from standing up. Jimenez is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Jimenez looking to sit in guard and control but Ware gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Ware with a flurry of punches that miss.

Ware trying to control the position from guard on top but Jimenez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ware stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jimenez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jimenez is trying to keep Ware in close.
Jimenez wants to stand up but Ware is controlling him. Ware pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jimenez is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ware throws an overhand right that lands on Jimenez's shoulder, as Jimenez tries to avoid the shot. Jimenez tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Ware lands with an uppercut that bounces Jimenez off the cage and back into rage.
It looks like Sonny Jimenez has been cut. Ware sends Jimenez crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Ware is motioning to the referee to let Jimenez up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Jimenez is rocked! Jimenez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Jimenez uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ware. Jimenez fails with the takedown. Ware shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jimenez as he jumps to the side. A big right from Jimenez misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Some wild striking there from Jimenez.
CoCo Ware seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jimenez slips a straight right by Ware. Ware throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Jimenez counters with a series of strikes. Ware will be more careful next time no doubt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
CoCo Ware dominated that round. The cut man is working on Sonny Jimenez's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Jimenez slips a jab from Ware. Ware lands an overhand right. Ware fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Jimenez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ware circles away. Jimenez closes the distance and clinches up with Ware, looking for a takedown. Jimenez pushes Ware against the cage but Ware circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. and Jimenez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Ware fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
That has opened up Sonny Jimenez's cut even more. Ware moves in looking to clinch but Jimenez pushes him off. Ware bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jimenez's head. Jimenez staying out of range there. Jimenez fails miserably with a takedown attempt. CoCo Ware has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sonny Jimenez. Ware lands a nice hook to Jimenez's body. Jimenez takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Jimenez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jimenez is breathing heavily. Ware rushes Jimenez and presses him up against the cage. Jimenez lands on the inside with an uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jimenez wants to get back to striking at distance but Ware won't allow it.

Ware working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jimenez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Ware is tightening it up a little... Jimenez has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Jimenez reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Jimenez taps out! nice BJJ there by Ware!

Linelli cracks Christian with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Christian tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Linelli pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Christian is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bannion tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Poynter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Poynter trying to control the position from guard on top but Bannion is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Poynter postures up.
