Cheese wants to clinch up but Bear keeps it at a distance.

Cheese misses with a takedown attempt - Bear sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Mac Cheese seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bear throws a right hand that Cheese ducks under and follows up with a left that Cheese also avoids with ease.

Cheese shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bear's guard.

Bear pushes Cheese off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Bear fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Cheese out cold! Brutal finish!

Zodd comes into the arena with Welcome to the jungle by Guns and Roses blaring out of the sound system. Coutinho comes into a darkened arena with his song building. In The End kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zodd bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Zodd knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Coutinho on the ground.
Coutinho tries to buck Zodd off but Zodd is having none of it.

Zodd wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Coutinho, who protects the arm well.

Zodd takes a little break here. Coutinho wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Coutinho is trying to improve his position.
Zodd tries to advance to mount but can't.
Coutinho is pushing Zodd's head away, looking to escape. Zodd manages to hold on to the position though.

Coutinho manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zodd keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Coutinho's head.

Zodd drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Zodd jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Zodd is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Coutinho had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Zodd is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Coutinho Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Zodd's back instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Coutinho looks gassed!
I really don't envy Zodd right now.

Coutinho escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Zodd gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Coutinho tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Coutinho has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
