Smith bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Norton's guard.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gracie lands in his opponent's guard.
Penderas wants to sweep here but Gracie controlling him for the moment.
Gracie missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Gracie being controlled here momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Penderas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gracie working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Penderas's head.

Penderas is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Gracie postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Penderas is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gracie, into his guard.
Penderas wants to get up but he can't break Gracie's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Penderas wants to stand and escape but instead Gracie has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie is pushing down on Penderas's leg trying to pass to half guard. Penderas is fighting to maintain full guard but Gracie has managed to sneak the leg through.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Gracie throwing shots but Penderas is blocking nicely.
Penderas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.

Penderas kicks Gracie off and gets back to his feet.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Penderas shows good takedown defense.
Guillermo Penderas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Penderas throws a nice looking combination but Gracie bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gracie shoots for a double leg takedown but Penderas sprawls well. He's pushed Gracie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Penderas cracks Gracie with a big right hand and Gracie goes down!

It looks like George Gracie has been cut.
Gracie looks gassed!
Gracie keeping moving, preventing Penderas from controlling successfully.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Penderas wants to stand but Gracie is controlling his posture from full guard.
Penderas trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gracie on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Penderas scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Penderas drops Gracie with a huge uppercut! Gracie drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Penderas is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Brown shoots in for a double leg but Wulf sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Wulf lands with a right hand.
Brown fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Wulf instigates a clinch.
Wulf is pressed up against the cage. Brown has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wulf down to the mat. Wulf avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Wulf holds on and takes a little breather.

They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Wulf hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
