These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muchado misses with a wild combination.
Muchado walks forward, straight into a front kick from De Souza.
De Souza misses with a series of wild punches.

De Souza shoots in and bounces Muchado off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
De Souza showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

De Souza wanted to stand there but Muchado had control of the position.

Muchado has his foot on De Souza's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. De Souza works his way back into a safe position though.

Ramos Muchado seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

De Souza had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Muchado is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. De Souza Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Muchado's back instead.

De Souza is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Muchado has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

De Souza is persistently looking for the submission but Muchado is defending it well.
De Souza is throwing strikes by Muchado counters by rolling into a better position. After a scramble, Muchado regains half guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jimmy Santos will probably get the nod.
