2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derrick Brown! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown looks for a takedown but Smith sprawls well. Derrick Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smith throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brown's waist but Brown gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smith off to one side. Brown shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Smith wants to sweep but no luck. Smith has his foot on Brown's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brown works his way back into a safe position though. Brown controls from within his opponent's guard. Smith on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Smith tries to get out of the position. Smith avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Brown has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Brown controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Brown should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Smith avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Brown slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.

Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Brown is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Brown is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Brown fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Smith, pushing him back against the cage. Smith prevents the takedown attempt.
Brown looks gassed! Brown has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Smith avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Pryehah Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derrick Brown. Brown can't break the clinch.
Smith tries to land knees in the clinch but Brown avoids the damage to the body. Smith prevents a takedown attempt there.
Brown tries to pull guard but Smith holds him up against the cage and eventually Brown drops back down to his feet.

Brown misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Nice takedown defense from Smith. No joy for Brown on that attempt. Pryehah Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derrick Brown. Smith with a poor takedown and Brown counters with a leg kick. Derrick Brown showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Brown looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Smith has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brown is working away from the top position though. Brown performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Brown tries to pass the half guard into mount. Smith knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Brown fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Smith has closed the distance and engaged Brown in a clinch.
Brown goes for a takedown attempt but Smith pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Pryehah Smith is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Brown tries to clinch but fails miserably so Smith counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Brown manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Smith manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Smith trying to control but Brown postures up.
Smith is looking to escape. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith gets full guard. Smith looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Smith is looking to stand up but Brown isn't so interested in that idea. Brown not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Smith throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Derrick Brown. I've got Brown winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whittaker rushes Fuhr and presses him up against the cage. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Whittaker breaks from the clinch.
Fuhr shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Fuhr was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Fuhr misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Fuhr is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Whittaker is surviving well by controlling Fuhr's body position as best he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fuhr can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Whittaker is looking to escape. Whittaker tries to hold on but Fuhr pushes him away. Whittaker trying desperately to get to his feet.
Whittaker is squirming around, avoiding Fuhr's attempts to control the action. Fuhr avoids the attempt from Whittaker to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fuhr looking for a guillotine from mount but Whittaker is having none of it. Fuhr lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Whittaker tries to improve his position but instead Fuhr has taken his back! Whittaker is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Fuhr off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Whittaker trying to control the position but Fuhr manages to sink in the hooks. Fuhr keeps control of the position as Whittaker tries to break free.
Whittaker is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Fuhr working for a choke but Whittaker is defending well. Whittaker controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fuhr is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Whittaker with him. Whittaker is trying to defend but Fuhr has an arm under the chin now! Whittaker grimaces and is forced to tap out!

James stuffs the takedown. Man fakes high and swings low for a body shot but James manages to avoid it. A big left from Man misses. James scores with the left hand. Man knows he should have avoided that one. Man shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with James but James pushes him off and we're back to square one. Man missing with a left hand there. James was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. James thuds a left hand into Man's body. James moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Man is rocked! Whack! James lands a heavy head kick that drops Man. The ref tackles James to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Man was done.

Wood looks to score with a jab to the body but Pomfrey is just out of range. Wood fails to land with a series of punches.
Wood keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Felix Pomfrey. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wood lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Pomfrey takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Wood will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's one minute gone in the round. Wood bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pomfrey's head backwards. Pomfrey blocks a jab. Wood lands with an uppercut that bounces Pomfrey off the cage and back into rage. Pomfrey fails with the takedown. Pomfrey has a takedown stuffed. Wood fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Wood throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Wood throws a big shot that misses. JD Wood is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pomfrey blocks a jab. Wood throws a series of punches but Pomfrey moves out of range. Pomfrey shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wood pinned against the cage. Wood gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Wood connects with a looping right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wood thuds a left hand into Pomfrey's body. Wood misses with the combination.
JD Wood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wood comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Wood throws a low kick but Pomfrey avoids it. Wood stuns Pomfrey with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Pomfrey is breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pomfrey bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Wood jabbing away but nothing is landing. Wood pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Wood scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Pomfrey is rocked! Wood fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Pomfrey square on the jaw! Damn, Pomfrey is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
