Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kenny Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick Taylor! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor tries to clinch up. Taylor looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Davis looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Taylor is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Taylor tries to stand and escape but Davis is controlling the position. Davis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Taylor. Davis moves into full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Davis is on top in guard.
Taylor looking for a sweep. Not yet Taylor, not yet. Taylor looks gassed! Davis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis works a leg free and moves into half guard. Taylor tries to get to full guard but Davis has control of the leg. Taylor is refusing to be controlled, as Davis sits in half guard. Davis is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Davis passes to full mount! Taylor keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Taylor is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Taylor can't escape the position.
Davis stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Davis darts in and clinches Taylor up against the cage. Davis is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Taylor gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Taylor jumps guard but Davis stands there with Taylor around his waist. Taylor gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Davis tries for a takedown but Taylor sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenny Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Davis fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Davis scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Davis clinches. A nice glancing elbow lands by Taylor. Davis is trying to maintain a safe position but Taylor gets an underhook and turns Davis into the cage. Taylor wants to break free but Davis has control.

Taylor stands and throws Davis's legs to the side, diving into side control. Davis struggling a bit here. Taylor is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Davis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parr avoids the body shot from Brook.
Parr uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brook. Brook misses with a series of wild punches.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Parr dodges the punch combination from Brook.

Brook misses with a takedown attempt - Parr sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Parr displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Brook looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Parr tries to clinch there but Brook circles away.

and Parr counters with a nice leg kick. Parr moves in looking to clinch but Brook pushes him off. Brook throws a left and a right that both miss
and Parr counters with a thumping low kick. Brook is breathing heavily. Parr wants to clinch up but Brook keeps it at a distance. Crunch! Parr slams his shin into Brook's torso.

and Parr holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Brook managing to block the knees to the body from Parr.

John Wayne Parr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Nice body kick from Brook. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Parr lets loose with a powerful body kick. Brook will feel that in the morning. Parr tries to keep at a distance but Brook has taken the fight into the clinch. Brook takes an elbow to the forehead. Parr throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Parr wants to stand but Brook has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Parr preventing the sweep. Parr is looking to stand up but Brook won't let him. Brook is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Parr wants to stand but Brook is controlling his posture from full guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Brook on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Brook with a poor takedown and Parr counters with a thumping low kick. Brook scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Brook tries to move into full mount but can't pass Parr's legs. Parr is pushing Brook's head away, looking to escape. Brook manages to hold on to the position though. Brook working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Brook tries for a kimura but Parr is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brook tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Parr on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Brook thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Parr manages to get back to half guard. Parr is trying to stand up here but Brook is controlling him well. Parr is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Brook has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Parr is tapping! This fight is all over!

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Kawazaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evan Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kawazaki comes to the cage accompanied by Slayer- War Ensemble. Reis comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Duality kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

and Reis counters with a head kick. That will keep Kawazaki thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Reis doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Kawazaki to counter with a crisp jab. Kawazaki is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Reis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kawazaki moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Kawazaki closes the distance looking to clinch and Reis counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kawazaki's knee momentarily.

and Reis counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Reis closes the distance and clinches up with Kawazaki, looking for a takedown. Reis pushes Kawazaki against the cage but Kawazaki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Reis shoots in and bounces Kawazaki off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Reis trying to control the position from guard on top but Kawazaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Reis might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kawazaki kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Reis working some strikes from top position. Reis passes easily into side control. Nice work. Reis cracks Kawazaki with a big right hand but Kawazaki just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Kawazaki is working to avoid the ground and pound but Reis connects with a decent elbow. Reis tries to advance to mount but Kawazaki denies him. Reis in side control, throwing shots but Kawazaki defends. Kawazaki explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Kawazaki throws a lazy head kick and Reis counters with a head kick. Kawazaki plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Kawazaki lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kawazaki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Reis paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kawazaki on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Reis. Reis obviously looking to wear him down.

Kawazaki pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. A head kick from Kawazaki lands but Reis takes it in his stride. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kawazaki, right into the meat.

Kawazaki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Reis's waist but Reis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kawazaki off to one side. Kawazaki moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Kawazaki sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kawazaki can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Reis is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reis tries to reverse the position but Kawazaki maintains control. Reis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Kawazaki controlling the position easily from mount. Reis tries to hold on but Kawazaki postures up. Kawazaki trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Thiago Kawazaki just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Kawazaki misses the shot to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Thiago Kawazaki will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Kawazaki scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Kawazaki gets to mount! Reis was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Reis wants to control but Kawazaki is having none of it. Kawazaki trying to control but he's not successful this time. Kawazaki can't control as he wanted to and Reis manages to get the fight back to his half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Reis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Reis looking for submissions off his back. Reis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Maximus closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Maximus lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Alves tries to bench press Maximus off him but Maximus keeps the position. Alves looking for a sweep but Maximus has passed into full mount! Oh no! Alves bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Alves wants to control from the top but Maximus keeps moving. Maximus has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Alves has passed into side control.
