The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boy clinches with his opponent.
Boy drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Boy is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Johnson pulls him back up using the underhooks. Boy wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sammy Boy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Boy has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Johnson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Boy manages to pull guard.
Boy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Johnson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Boy trying to control the position but Johnson is working away. Johnson on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Boy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Boy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Boy is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Sammy Boy just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rock Johnson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Boy looking to control and managing it successfully. Johnson is still in real trouble! Can Boy finish him? Boy is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Johnson has managed to escape the submission attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Boy connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Mills gets a takedown into half guard. Hester is refusing to be controlled, as Mills sits in half guard. Mills tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hester knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Hester wants to get back to his feet.
