The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Albuquerque tries to clinch up. Fafiri slips a jab and a cross from Albuquerque.
Fafiri throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Albuquerque tumbling to the canvas!

It looks like Phil Albuquerque has been cut. Fafiri stands and steps away. Albuquerque gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Oh Albuquerque is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Albuquerque rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fafiri moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Albuquerque seems to have got his legs back now. Albuquerque will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Albuquerque is breathing heavily. Fafiri scores with a punch to the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Albuquerque throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Cassidy does no damage. Fertit tries to clinch up but Cassidy circles away and keeps his distance. Cassidy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Fertit darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Fertit looks to land a strike but Cassidy avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Cassidy manages to escape and get back to his feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koff looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Mash is trying to control the position but Koff postures up. Koff throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mash works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mash tries to land a sweep but no joy. Koff working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mash looking to hit a scissor sweep but Koff is one step ahead there. Koff stands up over Mash, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Koff postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Mash keeping full guard, as Koff tries to pass.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Mash lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Mike Koff has been cut. Mash fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Koff looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Koff slips under a jab. Mash misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Koff.

Koff takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Koff shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mash as he jumps to the side. No luck for Koff with that takedown attempt. Koff tries for a takedown but Mash sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Koff tests Mash's chin there with a solid looking shot. The fighters circling - Koff throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mash throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Koff sees it coming and avoids it easily. Koff shoots in looking for a takedown. Mash tries to sprawl out of it but Koff keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mash manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Koff looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Mash is pressing down on Koff's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Mash lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Koff! Koff tries to get back to half guard but can't. Koff on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Koff tries to get out of the position. Mash controlling from the full mount. Mash's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Koff is looking to improve his position but Mash isn't that keen on the idea. Koff is working hard here to advance position. Mash controlling his opponent. Koff tries to hold on but Mash pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mash looking to control but Koff is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Koff is in all sorts of trouble here.
Mash tries to control but Koff wriggling away. Koff has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mash controlling from mount. Koff is wriggling around trying to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Koff bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Mash misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Koff seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mash does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Koff is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mash defends it well. Mash trying to hold on to Koff's head to control him but Koff postures up.
Koff thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mash's head. Mash is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Koff's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Koff's back! Mash scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Koff is looking for a way out. Mash loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Koff hold on?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mash doesn't have the hooks in and Koff manages to turn into his guard.

Mash is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Koff, into his guard. Mash must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Koff wants to sweep but no luck. Mash pushing down on Koff's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Koff tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Koff slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shirow changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nolty tries to avoid it but Shirow manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nolty to the ground. Nolty escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Nolty tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Shirow avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Shirow tries a head kick but it misses.
Nolty throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A clash of legs there as Shirow blocks the low kick. Shirow lands a jab to the nose. Nolty throws a sloppy head kick and Shirow counters with a crisp right that sends Nolty to the canvas! Shirow follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Franco can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Franco looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Grey connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Bonanza tumbling to the canvas! Grey pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Bonanza was done - good stoppage!

Paiva complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
