And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Taz Fodido!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fodido will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Fodido pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Fodido gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
You can see the frustration on Chavalier's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Fodido is looking to take a break and control but Chavalier is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fodido has an Americana. Chavalier didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Fodido is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Fodido hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sylva closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Alexander is trying to stand back up but Sylva is controlling him
Sylva is taking a breather. Alexander says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Sylva trying to control from half guard but Alexander is working away.
Sylva uses his free foot to push down on Alexander's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Alexander.
Alexander wants to control but Sylva is having none of it.

Sylva looking for a guillotine from mount but Alexander is having none of it.
Sylva lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Sylva looking to secure an arm triangle but Alexander defends it well.
Sylva throwing strikes here but Alexander is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sylva is working to isolate an arm here. It's a choreographed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Sylva extends the arm and Alexander is forced to tap!

Starac throws a right and a left that both miss.

Villefordt shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Villefordt was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Villefordt lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Starac is trying desperately to improve position.
Starac wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Villefordt is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Villefordt is trying to stick to Starac's back but Starac is turning into Villefordt. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Villefordt's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Starac.
Villefordt working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Starac.
Villefordt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Starac. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Starac wants to control from the top but Villefordt keeps moving.
Villefordt throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Starac won't allow Villefordt to sweep him here.
Starac has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Starac thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Starac misses with a takedown

and Villefordt decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Starac's guard.

Starac is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Villefordt seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Villefordt avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Starac wants to sweep but no luck.
Villefordt trying to control but Starac is working from the bottom.
Villefordt won't allow Starac to sweep him here.

Starac not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Starac has his feet on Villefordt's thighs here. He's pushed Villefordt off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Villefordt screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
