Undercard bout

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hoppus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva has chosen Addiction as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoppus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Silva swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Silva scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

It looks like Mark Hoppus has been cut.
Hoppus changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Hoppus manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Hoppus counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Silva throws a half hearted mid kick.
Silva swings for the body but Hoppus moves out of range.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Silva has eaten all the pies!

Hoppus drives through and clinches with Silva against the cage.
Silva tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hoppus just stands there and leans against the cage.

Hoppus breaks from the clinch.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Zack Hitana.

Rosseti has his foot on Maksymilian's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maksymilian works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maksymilian avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Maksymilian has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rosseti is proving hard to escape from.

Rosseti working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maksymilian doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maksymilian manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rosseti had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Maksymilian is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Rosseti Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Maksymilian's back instead.
