 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis throws a series of punches but Brawler avoids them all with ease. Brawler tries to clinch but Davis is having none of it. Davis swats away the attempt to clinch by Brawler. Brawler wants to clinch up but Davis keeps it at a distance. Brawler tries to clinch but Davis is having none of it. Brawler takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Davis misses with a kick to the body.
Brawler fails with an attempt to clinch.
Brawler tries to clinch there but Davis circles away.
Davis avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Davis waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Brawler. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Brawler to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

 It looks like Ray Brawler has been cut. Davis wants to pass the guard but Brawler is keeping the position. Brawler is still in real trouble! Can Davis finish him?
 That's one minute gone in the round. Davis tries to stand but Brawler is controlling from the bottom. Brawler seems to have recovered his senses. Davis looking to sit in guard and control but Brawler gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Davis is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Brawler wants to get up but he can't break Davis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Davis scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Davis knocks Brawler to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?

Davis has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Brawler is still on wobbly legs! Can Davis finish him? Brawler tries to clinch there but Davis circles away.
Brawler seems to have recovered his senses. Brawler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Davis but Davis pushes him off and we're back to square one. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Davis dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ray Brawler's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Davis wants to break free but Brawler has control.

Brawler has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head that stumbles Davis - he's in trouble! Another big knee to the head from Brawler, and another! Davis is out on his feet - the ref jumps in to save him and ends the fight!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Weiss uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Little. Weiss avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Little dodges the punch combination from Weiss.
Little doesn't manage to clinch there - Weiss circles away.
Weiss shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Weiss showed some decent athleticism there. Little has hold of Weiss's hands but Weiss slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Little looks gassed! Weiss thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Little's head. Weiss passes the guard and advances to mount! Weiss punishing his opponent with strikes.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Frankin pinned against the cage. Frankin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Frankin misses with a takedown attempt
and Brown counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Brown thows a huge punch but Frankin dodges it nicely.
Brown works his way into side control. Brown has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Frankin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Brown thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Brown goes for an armbar but Frankin turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Frankin. Brown is breathing heavily. Frankin preventing the sweep. Frankin trying to control the position from guard on top but Brown is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brown is trying to control the position but Frankin postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Frankin controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Frankin won't allow Brown to sweep him here.
Brown isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Frankin stacks Brown on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Frankin! Frankin takes a little break here. Brown wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Brown sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Brown makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Brown.
Brown is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Frankin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Brown has his feet on Frankin's thighs here. He's pushed Frankin off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Frankin screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Cassavant kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Bloodline by Slayer. Thomas Power told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Power scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Power fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Cassavant. Cassavant throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Power counters with a single leg into guard. Cassavant didn't expect that.
Power drops back looking for a leg! Cassavant is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cassavant manages to kick Power off! Power jumps back into Cassavant's guard. Power trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Power advances position into side control!
Power has an Americana. Cassavant didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Power is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Power hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Sherls shoots for a double leg takedown but Sharpe sprawls well. He's pushed Sherls's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Sherls takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Sharpe drives through with a takedown into guard. Sharpe missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Sharpe drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sherls dives on top into guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Sherls stopping the sweep attempt from Sharpe. Sherls wants to control from the top but Sharpe keeps moving.

Sharpe looks gassed! Sharpe is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Sherls is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Sharpe has managed to free his arm - good work. Sharpe tries to roll over but Sherls keeps him under control. Sharpe is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sherls's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sherls's back!

 That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sherls turns into Sharpe and is now in his guard.

Sherls drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sherls jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Sherls trying to control but Sharpe is working from the bottom. Sharpe wants to sweep but no luck.
Sharpe has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sherls is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Sharpe.

A close round but Michael Sharpe will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Sharpe stuns Sherls with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Sherls wants to clinch. Sharpe fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Sharpe cracks Sherls with an open hand slap.
Sharpe looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Sharpe is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sherls! Sharpe wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Sharpe lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Sharpe moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Sherls has worked his arm free - good work by Sherls!

Sharpe is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sherls is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Sherls is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sharpe off and has taken his back!
Sherls is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Sharpe has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Sharpe turns into Sherls and is now in his guard.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Sharpe with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Sherls can't handle though.

Tszyu throws a lazy right hand but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Tszyu is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Jackson takes a body punch but keeps moving. Jackson moves out of range of the strikes. Tszyu throws a hook but Jackson blocks it. Tszyu cracks Jackson with a good jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jackson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tszyu throws out the jab. Kostya Tszyu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson slips a straight right by Tszyu. A combination from Tszyu does no damage. Tszyu connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Jackson! He's out on his feet! Tszyu rushes in and drops Jackson with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
