The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons looks to land a combination. Power sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Power fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Simmons, pushing him back against the cage.
Power landing knees to the body.
Power changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Simmons fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Power will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Simmons with a jab.
Simmons lunges at Power with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Power's hand.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Power could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Power escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Power sneaks out the side door and pushes Simmons away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Simmons is not content to let Power control the position.
Power cracks Simmons with a big right hand but Simmons just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Power decides to stand up, so the ref orders Simmons to his feet.

Simmons is working the combinations to good effect here.

Simmons can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Power controls the pace.
Power gets to his feet and stands over Simmons, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Simmons felt that one! Power unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Simmons from any more punishment!

Gibson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Gibson shoots in looking for a takedown. English tries to sprawl out of it but Gibson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. English manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Gibson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
