The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cracker drops bain with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but bain looks back up at him and smiles so Cracker waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
It looks like paul bain has been cut. No luck for bain with that takedown attempt. Cracker throws a series of punches but bain moves out of range. Cracker throws a series of punches but bain avoids them all with ease. Cracker tries to clinch but bain moves out of range. bain shoots in and drives through. Cracker sprawls well. Cracker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Cracker pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. bain shoots in for a takedown and gets it. bain not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. bain tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cracker knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. bain thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cracker's head. bain tries to pass to full mount but Cracker defends it. bain working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Nice strikes from bain there. bain throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. bain throws a strike but Cracker avoids it easily and moves to full guard. bain throwing strikes but missing. bain in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cracker avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. bain throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. bain with a flurry of punches that miss. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. bain is looking to work some ground and pound but Cracker has wrist control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. bain shoots in for a takedown and gets it. bain working the head and body with strikes. bain is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. bain tries to free his leg and advance position but Cracker is retaining full guard.

Cracker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. bain bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Cracker misses with a two punch combination.
bain misses with a takedown attempt - Cracker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. bain avoids a punch combination nicely.
bain feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cracker has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes bain off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. bain leaves his chin hanging out and Cracker seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! bain crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
