The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Bruto wants to control but Silva is keeping busy and won't allow it. Bruto moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Bruto looking to control.
Bruto has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Silva has passed into side control.
Bruto is trying to control Silva's posture but Silva avoids it. Silva decides to stand back up. Silva steps back and let's Bruto get back to his feet. Bruto gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Silva counters with a takedown into side control. Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bruto keeps working. Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bruto, who protects the arm well.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Owens knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nair on the ground. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Tank looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Mendez is keen to just control but Tank is a slippery customer. Tank is looking to get back to is feet but Mendez passes into side control.
Mendez is staying tight to Tank's torso, preventing him from escaping. Mendez tries to move into full mount but can't pass Tank's legs. The ground and pound from Mendez seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Tank tries to buck Mendez off but Mendez is having none of it. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Nice jab there from Tank. Hank Tank has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tank does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Fuller. Torres lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Fuller! Torres with a couple of short strikes. Torres blocks Fuller's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Torres wants to control the pace but Fuller is squirming around nicely. Fuller manages to regain half guard. Good work.
