Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Syrion Borealis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Mezza!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Borealis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mezza throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Mezza controlling the position.
Mezza throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Borealis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mezza swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mezza is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mezza wants to stand but Borealis is controlling the position.
Borealis controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Borealis trying to move into half guard but instead Mezza has managed to sweep!
Mezza wants to control from the top but Borealis keeps moving.

Mezza is fighting to break Borealis's control of his arms but Borealis is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Borealis on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Borealis tries to get out of the position.
Mezza stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Borealis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Borealis pushes Mezza off looking to stand but Mezza dives back in and keeps control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Borealis thows a body shot but no joy.
Mezza doesn't manage to clinch there - Borealis circles away.

Borealis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Borealis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mezza misses with the combination.
Borealis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mezza as he jumps to the side.
Mezza swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Borealis throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mezza counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Borealis is breathing heavily.
Nice takedown defense from Mezza. No joy for Borealis on that attempt.
Borealis takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Mezza tries to clinch up but Borealis circles away and keeps his distance.

Borealis drives through with a takedown into guard.

Borealis drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mezza looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mezza looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mezza!
Borealis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mezza wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Mezza stands up and beckons Borealis to his feet.
Borealis moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

A big right followed by a crushing left from Mezza knocks Borealis out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Anderson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Zero looks to land a combination but Anderson avoids it well.

Anderson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Zero is looking to reverse the position.
Anderson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Zero sneaks back into half guard.
Anderson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Zero with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Anderson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

It looks like Dave Zero has been cut.
Anderson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Zero's face.

A big strike lands for Anderson! That's really hurt Zero and he's turned his back - Anderson keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Anderson Jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
