The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gatling tries to clinch up but Anoai circles away and keeps his distance. Anoai tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gatling paws at him with a jab and circles away. Anoai fails with a takedown attempt. Gatling paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Anoai wants to clinch. Nice sprawl there from Gatling as Anoai shoots in. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anoai closes the distance looking to clinch and Gatling counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gatling using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Anoai has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters circling - Anoai throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Gatling clinches but Anoai breaks the clinch and Anoai counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Anoai clinches up with Gatling and pushes him back against the cage. Anoai wants to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Gatling just misses with a elbow thrown towards Anoai's brow. Gatling lands an elbow inside. Anoai avoids the elbow strike from Gatling, against the cage.
A short right from Gatling on the inside. Gatling ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gatling no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gatling looking to control.
Gatling is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Gatling looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Gatling controls Anoai momentarily but Anoai frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Gatling is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Anoai is breathing heavily. Gatling sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Anoai defending well though. Gatling wants to lay and pray for a moment but Anoai keeps working. Gatling is stalling here. Anoai is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Gatling seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Anoai has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. A lazy body kick attempt from Anoai. Anoai closes the distance and clinches up with Gatling, looking for a takedown. Anoai pushes Gatling against the cage but Gatling circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Anoai rushes Gatling and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Gatling tries to lock up and control but Anoai gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Anoai prevents Gatling from getting the reversal. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quid lands a nice hook to Williams's body. Williams takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Williams feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Quid had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Williams is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Quid Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Williams's back instead. Williams manages to reverse the position and now he's in Quid's guard. Nice work there by Williams.
Williams is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Quid working for a triangle but Williams defends it easily.

I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Robinson is not content to let Simpson control the position. Simpson tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
