Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Stechino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson comes to the cage accompanied by Heavy Metal. The crowd seem to be enjoying Stechino's choice of entrance music: Crimson King by Demons & Wizards. Johnny Stechino told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stechino buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Thompson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Stechino manages to get back to half guard.
Thompson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stechino on the ground.

Marley tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Marley has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Marley is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sihoven is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Batteryus Teho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aivan Kamala!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Eliza Hachem and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kamala swinging wilding here.
Teho shoots in but Kamala avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Teho slips under a jab from Kamala.
Teho has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Kamala fails to land with a series of punches.
Teho takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Teho attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Kamala tries to bum rush Teho with a series of wild strikes but Teho uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kamala throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Teho.
Kamala missing with a left hand there. Teho was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Some wild striking there from Kamala.
Teho tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kamala swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kamala lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Kamala stuffs the takedown attempt from Teho. Teho gets slowly back to his feet.
Teho slips under a jab from Kamala.
Kamala moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Teho closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Kamala gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Kamala makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kamala.

Kamala had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Teho is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kamala Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Teho's back instead.

Kamala is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Teho is defending well though. Kamala let's go of the attempt for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Teho trying to control the hands but Kamala won't let him.
Teho can't escape the position.
Well, with Kamala on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Teho is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Kamala tries to keep control of the position but Teho is staying busy.
Teho is really stuck here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kamala is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Kamala has his arm under Teho's chin here. Game over son! Kamala squeezes tightly and Teho is forced to tap out!

Rutten ducks under a wild hook from Orton.
Orton throws a right hand that Rutten ducks under and follows up with a left that Rutten also avoids with ease.
A punch combination from Orton misses.
A head kick from Rutten lands but Orton takes it in his stride.
Orton throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Orton lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Rutten can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Orton and Rutten drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Orton.
