1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Reico Vanlaque! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vanlaque shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Isaac as he avoids it easily. Isaac throws a sloppy head kick and Vanlaque moves out of range easily. Vanlaque closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Isaac to the mat! Isaac manages to get full guard. Isaac looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Vanlaque prevents Isaac from getting back to his feet. Vanlaque pushing down on Isaac's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Isaac wants to get back to full guard. Isaac wants to get back to his feet.
Vanlaque is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Vanlaque is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Isaac is just riding it out for now. Vanlaque eventually gives up the hold. Vanlaque works his way into side control. Vanlaque has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Isaac is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Vanlaque yanks on the arm and Isaac is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Vanlaque.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quartey goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Markiewicz wants to clinch. A solid leg kick lands there for Quartey.
Markiewicz staying out of range there. Quartey circles away from the clinch attempt.

Ike Quartey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Quartey fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Markiewicz swats away the attempt to clinch by Quartey. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Markiewicz looks to clinch and Quartey counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Quartey. Quartey throwing strikes but missing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Quartey with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Quartey stands and steps away. Markiewicz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Quartey shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Markiewicz pinned against the cage. Markiewicz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Quartey takes the fight into the clinch.

Markiewicz wants to sweep here but Quartey controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Markiewicz is trying to hold Quartey in close to prevent damage but Quartey has managed to pass into half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Quartey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Markiewicz tries to avoid it but Quartey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Markiewicz to the ground. Markiewicz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Markiewicz can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Colic tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Colic slips a jab and a cross from Tank.
The fighters circle momentarily. Tank darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Tank throws a right hand that Colic ducks under and follows up with a left that Colic also avoids with ease. Tank shoots in but no luck this time. Colic shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Tank bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Colic tries to land a sweep but no joy. Colic trying to control the position.
Colic wants to stand up but Tank is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Colic wants to hit a switch here but Tank passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Colic there!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Regard throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nutt's waist but Nutt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Regard off to one side. Regard throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nutt. Regard throws a big shot that misses. Nutt takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Regard looks to land a combination but Nutt avoids it well. Nutt lands a jab-cross combination. Regard swings for the body but Nutt moves out of range.

Regard wants to get back to full guard but Nutt has mounted him! Nutt scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Regard?

BOOM! Nutt connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Nutt with shots to the head and body - Regard looks very uncomfortable down there. Nutt landing strikes from the mount. Nutt prevents Regard from getting the reversal. Nutt lands a big shot there that rocks Regard but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nutt is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Regard can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The fighters circling - Regard throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Regard jabs Nutt right on the nose. Nutt blinks but takes it well. Regard lands a nice shot to the body.
Regard lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Regard scores with a jab. Nutt acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Regard dips to his left and cracks Nutt with an uppercut! A nice combination there by Regard.
Nutt takes a shot right to the bread basket. Regard stuns Nutt with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Regard tries to bum rush Nutt with a series of wild strikes but Nutt uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Regard is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. A shot to de liver by Regard. Beautiful body shot. Regard shoots and misses and Nutt counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Regard! Regard really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Regard tries to roll over but Nutt keeps him under control. Regard is looking to escape. Nutt is thwarting Regard's attempts to control the position. Nutt stops Regard from getting back to his feet.
Nutt wants to take a breather but Regard is having none of it. Regard is trying to stand up here but Nutt is controlling him well.

That was a close second round but I would say that Blue Regard will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Regard, as that shot connected.
Nutt throws a sloppy head kick and Regard moves out of range easily. Nutt looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Regard throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Nutt walks into a stiff left hand from Regard. Nutt moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Regard swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nutt drops his hands momentarily and Regard takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Nutt checks a leg kick. Regard will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A right-left combo lands from Nutt. Regard shoots and misses and Nutt counters with a nice double leg into side control. Regard won't be happy with that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Regard is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Nutt asserts his dominance and retains side control. Regard prevents Nutt from improving position. Regard manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Regard wants to stand up but Nutt has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Regard would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Nutt wants to sweep but no luck. Nutt throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Nutt has a closed guard, preventing Regard from standing up. Regard trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

And that's the end of the fight! Buck Nutt comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Nutt has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dreyer misses with a double jab.
Dreyer changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. The fight moves into the clinch position. Dreyer landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Dreyer breaks from the clinch.
Dreyer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Vallens fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Vallens shoots in and drives through. Dreyer sprawls well. Vallens looks gassed! Dreyer throws a nice outside leg kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vallens dodges the punch combination from Dreyer.

Dreyer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dreyer explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Dreyer lands with a right hand. Dreyer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Some wild striking there from Dreyer.
Vallens takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Vallens jumps guard but Dreyer stands there with Vallens around his waist. Vallens gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Dreyer scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

The fighters roll with the hold and Dreyer manages to kick Vallens off! Vallens jumps back into Dreyer's guard. Dreyer trying to control the position.

Vallens drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dreyer manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Vallens has Dreyer in his guard.

Dreyer trying to control but Vallens is working from the bottom. Dreyer is really struggling to control Vallens but he's trying to hold on to the position. Vallens is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Dreyer controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Dreyer throws a strike but Vallens rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Vallens tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dreyer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dreyer wants to control but Vallens is having none of it. Vallens has hold of Dreyer's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Dreyer manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Vallens is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Dreyer is surviving well by controlling Vallens's body position as best he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Vallens looking to secure an arm triangle but Dreyer defends it well. Dreyer is desperately trying to improve his position but Vallens has a good base and remains in mount. Vallens goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Dreyer turns into him and now he's in Vallens's guard.
Dreyer is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Dreyer throws a big right hand that misses. Dreyer has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vallens wants to sweep here but Dreyer controlling him for the moment. Vallens looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Dreyer passes into half guard.
Dreyer wants to take a breather but Vallens is having none of it. Vallens makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vallens. Dreyer passes Vallens's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Vallens is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Dreyer jumps into side control! Vallens is trying to improve his position. Vallens trying to remain calm as Dreyer controls from the top position. Vallens tries to get back to half guard but can't. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Vallens prevents Dreyer from improving position. Vallens tries to bench press Dreyer off him but Dreyer keeps the position.

He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Bertos land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Bertos stands and salutes the crowd.
