The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sten throws a head kick that misses. Zumo tries to keep at a distance but Sten has taken the fight into the clinch. Sten scores with a knee to the head.
Sten lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Joe Zumo has been cut. Zumo could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Zumo is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sten pulls him back up using the underhooks. Sten scores with an uppercut up the middle. Sten lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Sten tries a knee to the head but Zumo blocks it.
Sten prevents a takedown attempt there.
Sten comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Zumo has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sten avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. The fighters are pinned against the cage. LaCroix manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Nice sprawl there from LaCroix as Martinez shoots in. LaCroix tries to close the distance and clinch but Martinez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
