The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bullaboski shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Bullaboski landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Bullaboski tries to stand and escape but Kuikka is controlling the position. Bullaboski is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Kuikka is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! butt changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rotch looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. butt throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Rotch is trying to buck butt off. butt is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rotch is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. butt should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. butt tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. butt wants to control but Rotch is keeping him busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Rotch holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Rotch is not content to let butt control the position. Rotch is positioning himself to get back to half guard. butt throwing shots but missing, from side control. Rotch tries to improve position but can't.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Rotch cracks butt with an uppercut from hell and butt crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Rotch's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flipovic missing with a left hand there. Burd was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Burd avoids a punch combination nicely.
Burd shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Flipovic but Flipovic pushes him off and we're back to square one. Burd avoids a punch combination nicely.
Burd shoots in but Flipovic avoids the takedown attempt easily. Flipovic pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Burd fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Mirko Flipovic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Burd. Flipovic rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Burd moves out of range and avoids them all easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Flipovic throws a jab when Burd was well out of range. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Flipovic. Burd moves out of range as Flipovic strikes. Flipovic tries to land a front kick but Burd steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burd fails with a takedown attempt. Nice defenses there by Burd. Flipovic throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Burd shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Flipovic as he jumps to the side. Flipovic pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mirko Flipovic is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Flipovic throws a head kick that misses. Flipovic tries a head kick but it misses.
Flipovic throws a right hand that Burd ducks under and follows up with a left that Burd also avoids with ease. Burd shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Flipovic's guard. Flipovic is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Burd is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Flipovic is breathing heavily. Burd is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Flipovic wants to get back to his feet but Burd passes into half guard.
Burd is taking a breather. Flipovic says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Flipovic pushes Burd off but Burd dives into side control.

He's worked his way up against the cage but Burd has just dragged him back down to the mat. Burd is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Flipovic looks calm but he's in trouble here. Burd gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Flipovic is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Burd lets go of the hold and Flipovic can pop his arm back in it's socket.

It looks like Shaw Uilliam has been cut. Uilliam has taken the fight to the clinch.
Uilliam keeps control of Kostaja as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Uilliam wants a takedown.

Kostaja gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Uilliam wants to get back to full guard. Uilliam is controlling Kostaja's trapped leg to prevent Kostaja from advancing to side control. Uilliam could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Kostaja seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Uilliam taking some punishment here, with Kostaja in his half guard. Uilliam wants to control but Kostaja is keeping busy.

Kostaja manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Uilliam bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kostaja's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kostaja wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kostaja is looking to stand up but Uilliam isn't so interested in that idea. Uilliam is standing up over Kostaja. Kostaja looks to escape but Uilliam dives into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Uilliam lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Uilliam wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kostaja keeps working. Kostaja pushes Uilliam away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Uilliam gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Uilliam is looking to take a break and control but Kostaja is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kostaja keeps the fight on the outside. Uilliam is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kostaja swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Uilliam tries to clinch up. Kostaja throws a right and a left that Uilliam avoids nicely. Uilliam clinches up with Kostaja and pushes him back against the cage. Uilliam lands an elbow inside that Kostaja shrugs off. Uilliam has Kostaja pushed against the cage. Uilliam connects with a knee to the head.
Uilliam is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Kostaja breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A head kick from Uilliam lands but Kostaja takes it in his stride. Uilliam loads up on a big right hand but Kostaja slips the punch. Uilliam tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A swing and a miss from Kostaja. Kostaja gets the takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kostaja tries to stand but Uilliam is controlling his head. Kostaja throws a strike aimed at the side of Uilliam's head but Uilliam avoids it well. Kostaja tries to stand but Uilliam is controlling his head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Uilliam tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kostaja wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Kalevi Kostaja will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Shaw Uilliam's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Kostaja. Kostaja stands up and we're back to a striking position. Uilliam fails with a takedown attempt. Shaw Uilliam is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kostaja tries to clinch up but Uilliam circles away and keeps his distance. Kostaja connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Uilliam darts in trying to clinch and Kostaja counters with a series of strikes. Uilliam will be more careful next time no doubt. Uilliam on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kostaja feints and as Uilliam raises his hands in defense, Kostaja changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Kostaja really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Uilliam. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kostaja wanted to stand there but Uilliam had control of the position. Kostaja postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Uilliam looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kostaja tries to stand but Uilliam is controlling from the bottom. Kostaja tries to free his leg and advance position but Uilliam is retaining full guard. Kostaja stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Uilliam has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Kostaja manages to get his head free but now Uilliam has transitioned to an armbar! Kostaja grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Uilliam! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

With the two fighters working up against the cage, McGale just misses with a elbow thrown towards Cockx's brow. McGale wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Kusti displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hagert throws out the jab. Hagert misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Hagert throws a right hand that Kusti ducks under and follows up with a left that Kusti also avoids with ease.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, T Rex! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rex stuffs the takedown attempt from Sorsa. Sorsa gets slowly back to his feet. Sorsa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rex swivels and escapes. Rex instigates a clinch. Sorsa can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Repe Sorsa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rex can't break the clinch.
Rex manages to break the clinch.
Rex will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Sorsa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rex's waist but Rex gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sorsa off to one side. Rex rushes Sorsa and presses him up against the cage. Rex escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sorsa pushes down on Rex's leg and manages to get into half guard. Sorsa looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Sorsa is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rex! Sorsa controlling his opponent. Sorsa prevents Rex from getting the reversal. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sorsa wants to control the pace but Rex is squirming around nicely. Sorsa avoids the attempt from Rex to control. Rex looks gassed! Sorsa with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Sorsa manages to capitalize on a mistake by Rex to take his back! Rex rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Sorsa wants to control the pace but Rex is squirming around nicely. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rex can do anything to dispel that myth. Possibly, maybe, no Sorsa has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cancer pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Cancer looks for a takedown but Prime sprawls well. Prime drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Cancer has his foot on Prime's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Prime works his way back into a safe position though. Prime content to stall in guard here. Cancer looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Prime tries to stand but Cancer is controlling from the bottom. Prime has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Prime is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Prime's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Cancer has a loose triangle. Cancer tries to roll over but Prime keeps him under control. Testicular Cancer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Prime connects with a nice short shot to Cancer's temple.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to optimus Prime. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Prime, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
