The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salvia rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Heid moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Heid closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Heid lands in his opponent's guard.
Heid tries to free his leg and advance position but Salvia is retaining full guard.
Heid is working hard here to advance position.

Heid drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Heid jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Salvia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Heid. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Salvia scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Heid is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Salvia has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Heid is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Salvia is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Salvia flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Heid anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Salvia and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Heid slips an arm under Salvia chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Heid has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Heid is squeezing on Salvia like an anaconda would it's prey. Salvia fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Well Sirovica has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
