The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Bowman. Bowman works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Bowman lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Bowman decides to stand back up. Bowman steps back and let's Alucard get back to his feet. Alucard fails with the takedown and Bowman counters with a shoot takedown. Alucard fights it but they end up in guard. Alucard is breathing heavily. Bowman scoring with punches to the head and body. Scott controls the position from side control. Ward knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Scott on the ground. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Scott swings around for an armbar but Ward sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Scott's guard.

Ward knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Scott is looking to take a break and control but Ward is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Shields had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Usagi is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Blaze. Horrible takedown by Blaze or perhaps it was just good defense by Miller which made him look bad. Miller shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Blaze had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Miller is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Blaze Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Miller's back instead. Miller tries to break free.

Late gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Late moves into the clinch. Late turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Late manages to end up in side control. Late wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kai, who protects the arm well. Late is working Kai over with some ground and pound from side control. Kai is trying to control Late's posture but Late avoids it. Late has hold of Kai's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kai tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Late cranks the arm and Kai screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kai, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
