The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but LaPlaguea swivels and escapes.

Man is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. LaPlaguea doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Man.

Man is working for a kimura here but LaPlaguea manages to reverse the position and he's now in Man's guard.

Man working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. LaPlaguea doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. LaPlaguea manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Taka Yoshi.

Utah throws a right and a left that both miss.
Utah fails with an attempt to clinch.
Utah throws a right and a left that Weber avoids nicely.
Utah wants to clinch up but Weber keeps it at a distance.
Weber looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Nice sprawl there from Weber as Utah shoots in.
Utah throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Weber's waist but Weber gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Utah off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Utah. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Utah needs to keep his hands up - Weber had a free shot at his head there.

Larusso tries to bum rush Jackson with a series of wild strikes but Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Larusso lands a jab to Jackson's midsection.
Larusso throws a series of punches but Jackson moves out of range.
Larusso tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Jackson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
