Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drew Baker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drake Macon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Macon is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Rock You Like a Hurricane. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Drew Baker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Drake Macon! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Macon tries to close the distance and clinch but Baker swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Baker shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Macon as he jumps to the side. Macon tries for a takedown but Baker circles away easily and Baker counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Macon's guard now. Macon is trying to keep Baker in close.
Macon has his hands on Baker's head, controlling the position. Macon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Baker is pressing down on Macon's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Macon throws a big right hand that misses. Baker managing to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Baker tries to land a sweep but no joy. Macon wants to pass the guard but Baker is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baker keeping moving, preventing Macon from controlling successfully. Macon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Macon preventing the sweep. Baker throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Macon moves into range and clinches up with Baker. Baker successfully pulls guard.

Macon wants to get up but he can't break Baker's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Macon looks gassed! Baker tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Baker being controlled here, momentarily. Macon preventing the sweep. Baker throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Macon tries to free his leg and advance position but Baker is retaining full guard. Macon wants to control from the top but Baker keeps moving. Macon is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Baker changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Macon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Baker lands a few punches from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baker lands a nice forearm strike. Baker in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Macon is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Macon taking punishment in the form of punches.
Baker working the body and head with strikes. Macon struggling a bit here. Baker working the ground and pound. Baker is looking to take a break and control but Macon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Baker remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Macon sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Baker is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Baker looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Macon is trying to control but can't.
Baker uses his free foot to push down on Macon's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Macon. Macon is looking to improve his position but Baker isn't that keen on the idea. Baker working away from the top, dropping strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Baker doesn't succeed with the takedown and Macon counters with a nice double leg into guard. Baker is striking from the bottom but Macon uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. No, Baker has managed to free his arm - good work. Macon is tying to control. Baker wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Macon wants to stand up but Baker is controlling the position.

Baker wants to control the pace but Macon is squirming around nicely. Baker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Baker lands a big shot there that rocks Macon but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Baker pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Baker punishing his opponent with strikes. Baker has control of Macon's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Macon regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Macon wants to control but Baker is having none of it. Baker working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Baker postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Macon looks a forlorn figure.

Macon is bucking up trying to escape but Baker cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Baker tries to control but Macon wriggling away. Baker fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Macon is desperately trying to improve his position but Baker has a good base and remains in mount. Macon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. The referee warns Macon that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Macon tries to hold on but Baker postures up. Macon is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Baker is staying active. Baker landing strikes, looking to finish! Baker lands with some strikes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Macon tries to hold on but Baker pushes him away. Baker landing shots from mount. Macon tries to hold on but Baker pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Drew Baker will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Baker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Macon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Macon wants to pass the guard but Baker is keeping the position. Baker keeping moving, preventing Macon from controlling successfully. Macon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Baker swivels though and keeps the full guard. Macon trying to control the position from guard on top but Baker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Baker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Baker takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Nice sprawl there from Baker as Macon shoots in. Baker fails to land the takedown. Nice takedown defense from Macon. No joy for Baker on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Drew Baker. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd cheers as Macon lands an impressive looking overhand right. Baker doesn't seem phased though. Drake Macon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Macon gets caught flat footed, as Baker shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Baker passes Macon's left leg - he's now in half guard. Baker slows the pace down in half guard. Baker will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Baker lands with a punch from half guard. Macon on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Baker is trying to work for a kimura but Macon is defending well.

Parantainen tries to clinch but WO moves out of range. Parantainen thuds his right hand into WO's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. WO throws a body kick that misses. Parantainen ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Parantainen darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. WO wants to get back to his feet.
WO tries to get to full guard but Parantainen has control of the leg. Parantainen working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

WO is rocked! Parantainen pushes WO up against the cage in a clinch. Parantainen just leaning against WO, taking a breather. Parantainen lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of WO backwards. WO wants to break free but Parantainen has control.
WO escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hakusho feints and as Nazaire raises his hands in defense, Hakusho changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Nazaire tries to land a sweep but no joy. Nazaire is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Nazaire manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hakusho manages to get himself to full guard.
Nazaire won't allow Hakusho to sweep him here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hakusho looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
