Undercard bout

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zvonimir Stelian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Lux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Stelian might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sandstorm (Darude). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Stelian checks a leg kick.
A nice combination there by Lux.
Stelian throws a nice looking combination but Lux bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lux circles away from the clinch attempt.

Lux scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Sloppy strikes there by Lux.
Stelian tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The strikes coming from Lux are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Lux tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lux has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Stelian parries the strikes from Lux easily there. Lux is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stelian to escape.

Lux throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Stelian struggling a bit here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Stelian throws a combination. Lux tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Stelian throws a nice outside leg kick.
Lux seems to have recovered his senses.
Stelian throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Lux stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Stelian follows into mount!

Lux lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lux.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Stelian fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lux manages to avoid it.
Lux tries to clinch there but Stelian circles away.
Lux throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lux scoring well with a low kick there.
Lux scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Stelian misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Lux steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Stelian. That one must have hurt.
Stelian throws a lazy right hand but Lux sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Stelian lands with a thumping leg kick.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Lux drives through and clinches with Stelian against the cage.
Lux is working for takedown but Stelian is calmly controlling the position for now.

Stelian breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Stelian keeps control of Lux as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Stelian escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stelian throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Stelian lands a jab-cross combination.

Stelian throws a series of punches but Lux avoids them all with ease.
Some wild striking there from Stelian.
Stelian is looking to clinch but Lux is avoiding it.

and Stelian counters with a thumping low kick.
Lux on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
A jab-cross combination lands for Stelian and sends Lux crashing to the mat! Stelian follows him down to the mat - Lux regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stelian decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Stelian connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Lux tumbling to the canvas! Stelian pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Lux was done - good stoppage!

Booth lets loose with a powerful body kick. Smith will feel that in the morning.
Booth looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smith is fending him off so far but Booth persists. Nope, Smith circles away and we're back to standing.
Booth takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Smith closes the distance and clinches.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Booth.
Smith wants to break free but Booth has control.
Smith fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Smith is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Booth gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.
