Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Soul Reaper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reaper comes into the arena with ayatolla blaring out of the sound system. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reaper changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Smith looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Smith can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reaper trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom.
Reaper moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Smith is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Reaper is controlling him well.

Reaper tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Reaper has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Reaper wants to clinch up but Smith keeps it at a distance.

Fritz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Fritz is nestled in close to Stokenhizer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Fritz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Tarinashi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Smith wants to clinch up but Tarinashi keeps it at a distance.

Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Smith takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Tarinashi, as that shot connected.
Tarinashi scores with a nice strike.
Smith has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Smith is rocked!

Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith walks straight into a right hand from Tarinashi - that's dropped him! Tarinashi jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Smith from any more punishment! Smith complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
