Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Garcia's choice of entrance music: Eye of the tiger. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Payne shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Garcia as he avoids it easily. Garcia misses with a series of wild punches.
Garcia is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Garcia with a poor takedown so Payne counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Payne decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Payne clinches with his opponent.
Garcia fails to pull guard.
Payne has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Garcia avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Payne fails to pull the fight into his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Payne forces his way into half guard. Payne is controlling the pace.

Payne takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Garcia wants to control but Payne is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Garcia is looking to control Payne's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Garcia avoid being mounted? Garcia wants to get back to full guard.

Thomas Payne dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Garcia is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Garcia moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Payne stuffs the takedown. Payne gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily so Garcia counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Garcia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Payne swivels though and keeps the full guard. Garcia wanted to stand there but Payne had control of the position. Payne keeping moving, preventing Garcia from controlling successfully. Garcia advances position into side control! Thomas Payne overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Garcia tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Payne sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Garcia missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. It looks like Garcia is going to stand back up.
Garcia decides to stand up. Garcia moves into the clinch successfully.
Payne breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Payne. Garcia throws a right hand that Payne ducks under and follows up with a left that Payne also avoids with ease. Garcia darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Payne blocking the ground and pound attempt from Garcia.

Garcia is looking to stall here but Payne recovers full guard. Garcia pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Payne is keeping the position for now. Payne is controlling Garcia's posture. Garcia trying to control the position from guard on top but Payne is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Garcia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Payne swivels though and keeps the full guard. Payne is pulling down on Garcia's head to control his posture. Payne keeping moving, preventing Garcia from controlling successfully. Payne has control of Garcia's left arm, preventing Garcia from doing any damage. Payne preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Garcia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Garcia doesn't succeed with the takedown and Payne counters with a single leg into guard. Garcia didn't expect that. Garcia looking to hit a scissor sweep but Payne is one step ahead there. Garcia wants to get back to his feet but Payne passes into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Payne in particular looking to stall. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Garcia is trying to maintain the position but Payne is very close to passing his half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Garcia being controlled here, momentarily. Payne seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Garcia for as long as he can get away with.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Payne trying to control but Garcia is working from the bottom.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Thomas Payne just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Garcia with a lazy takedown attempt and Payne counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Payne is working for a submission of some sort.

Garcia is looking to improve his position but Payne isn't that keen on the idea. Payne has hold of Garcia's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Garcia manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Garcia is trying desperately to improve position. Garcia really wants to buck Payne off and get back to his feet. Garcia tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hughes pinned against the cage. Hughes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Hughes looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Some wild striking there from Silva.
Silva will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Silva closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hughes circles away. Hughes looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Hughes lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
It looks like Tamara Silva has been cut. Hughes throws a right and a left that Silva avoids nicely. Hughes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Silva is trying to improve his position. Hughes has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Hughes takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Silva has his takedown stuffed and Hughes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silva's guard. Dave Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tamara Silva.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hughes is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hughes's back instead. Silva has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Hughes is in real trouble here. Silva gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Hughes is tapping out! Silva wins by rear naked choke!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith darts in and clinches Sofa up against the cage. Sofa manages to break the clinch.
Sofa throws a hook to the side of Smith's head but Smith sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Smith fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sofa sprawls well initially but Smith persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Sofa wants to get back to his feet. Sofa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground. Smith is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Smith lands strikes from half guard. Sofa avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Smith. Smith is looking to take a break and control but Sofa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Smith trying to mount his opponent but Sofa defends it. Smith prevents Sofa from standing back up.
Sofa is not content to let Smith control the position. Smith is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Sofa wants to try and get back to his feet. Houser rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Betoli moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Houser misses with an uppercut. Betoli saw that one coming. Houser misses with a straight left. Houser will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Betoli takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A head kick misses from Houser. Houser slips a jab and a cross from Betoli.
Houser connects with a nice cross there... Betoli is looking wobbly and Houser recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Betoli to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Houser jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Lucky escape for Wall because McNeil loaded up on that one. Wall tries to lock up and control but McNeil gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. McNeil wants to control the pace but Wall is squirming around nicely. Wall tries to control McNeil's body but McNeil pushes him off. Wall squirms to his side and now McNeil has his back! McNeil not allowing Wall to control his hands.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rexton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Skrilla as he avoids it easily. Rexton shoots in for a takedown but Skrilla shows good takedown defense. Rexton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Coby Skrilla has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Troy Rexton. Rexton fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Rexton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Skrilla is fending him off so far but Rexton persists. Nope, Skrilla circles away and we're back to standing. Rexton shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Skrilla pinned against the cage. Skrilla gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Skrilla is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rexton. Skrilla stuffs the takedown. Rexton feints and then dives in with a takedown. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Rexton looks gassed! Skrilla changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Rexton shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Skrilla pinned against the cage. Skrilla gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Rexton closes the distance and clinches up with Skrilla, looking for a takedown. Rexton pushes Skrilla against the cage but Skrilla circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
