2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Oedipus Galactican! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Smeigel Golom! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Galactican tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Galactican misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Golom fails with the takedown. Galactican shoots in and bounces Golom off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Golom looking to control.
Golom is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Galactican forces his way into half guard. Golom moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Golom working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Galactican doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Galactican manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Golom looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Golom should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Galactican won't allow Golom to sweep him here. Galactican trying to control but Golom is working from the bottom. Galactican postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Galactican shoots for a double leg takedown but Golom sprawls well. He's pushed Galactican's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Golom tries for a takedown but Galactican circles away easily and Galactican counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Galactican. Oedipus Galactican has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Smeigel Golom.

Galactican trying to control the position from guard on top but Golom is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Galactican is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Galactican with a flurry of punches that miss. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Galactican gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Galactican clinches with his opponent.

Galactican wants to control the pace but Golom is squirming around nicely. Golom is bucking up trying to escape but Galactican cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Galactican has control of Golom's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Golom regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Galactican lands a nice shot to the head. Golom gets back to half guard. Galactican is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Golom has eaten all the pies! Golom moves in looking to clinch but Galactican pushes him off. Smeigel Golom has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Golom is trying to drag Galactican to the mat but Galactican just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Oedipus Galactican has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Smeigel Golom. Galactican lands a left hand.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scatman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ahokas swivels and escapes. Scatman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ahokas is fending him off so far but Scatman persists. Nope, Ahokas circles away and we're back to standing. Ahokas scoring well with a low kick there.
Ahokas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Scatman swats him away and circles back towards the center. Scatman looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! No, Ahokas has managed to free his arm - good work. Ahokas works his way to full guard. Good work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Lokka defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Susi. Susi looking to ground and pound but Lokka is blocking nicely. Susi misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Susi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Lokka is looking to regain half guard here but Susi keeps moving and retains side control.

A jab from Thurston does it's job there. Thurston stalks Mofo and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Mofo's face. Mofo staggers backwards, shaken. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Suarus throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Kultainen misses its intended target. A punch lands to the side of Key 's head but he takes it in his stride. Kultainen jabbing away but nothing is landing. Key lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Roni Kultainen has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Key working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Key gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Key moves in looking to clinch but Kultainen pushes him off. Key clinches up with Kultainen and pushes him back against the cage. Kultainen stops a takedown attempt from Key.

Key wants to clinch up but Kultainen keeps it at a distance. Key drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kultainen parries the strikes from Key easily there. Key is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kultainen to escape.
Key works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Key tries for a kimura but Kultainen is defending well. Key is breathing heavily. Kultainen gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kultainen looking for submissions off his back. Key looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
