The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Janis blocks a head kick by Sanchez.
The fight stays on the outside here - Janis looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Janis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Janis showed some decent athleticism there. Janis working the head and body with strikes.
It looks like Alvaro Sanchez has been cut. Janis is taking a breather. Sanchez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Sanchez kicks Janis off and gets back to his feet. Janis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Janis prevents Sanchez from standing back up.
Janis moves nicely into side control. Sanchez is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Janis has just dragged him back down to the mat. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Janis is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sanchez has escaped the position, nice work there.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rockobilitus tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Rockobilitus will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Curt Beaudin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Beaudin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Beaudin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
It looks like Maximux Rockobilitus has been cut. Beaudin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Rockobilitus tries for a takedown. No joy.

He's got his arms around Beaudin's waist but Beaudin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rockobilitus off to one side. Beaudin connects with a crisp jab. Beaudin throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
