El wants to take a breather but Deborde is having none of it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

El is stalling here. Deborde is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! El seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Deborde has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
El is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Deborde drops back, looking for a kneebar! El looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. El looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from El!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

El looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Deborde tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but El wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kal El dominated that round.
The cut man is working on D Dub Deborde's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


El smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Deborde tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but El swivels and escapes.
El wants to clinch.
Deborde sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
El slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Deborde walks into a jab.
El fails to land with a series of punches.
El works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
El throws an overhand right that drops Deborde like a sack of potatoes! El dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
