Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Reg October (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raul Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Raul Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! October throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sanchez. Sanchez shoots for a double leg takedown but October sprawls well. He's pushed Sanchez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Sanchez tries to close the distance and clinch up but October swats him away and circles back towards the center. Sanchez scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bannion tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range. Bannion keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Bannion throws a head kick that misses. Bannion tries a head kick but it misses.

Silva fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bannion sprawls well initially but Silva persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Bannion is trying to stand back up but Silva is controlling him

Nice work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Patterson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Nope, Meeker has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Patterson uses his free foot to push down on Meeker's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Meeker.

Patterson wants to finish this one by submission but Meeker is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Patterson. Meeker throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

Meeker is squirming around, avoiding Patterson's attempts to control the action. Patterson throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Patterson is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Meeker is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
