The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kong shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shepard as he avoids it easily.
Shepard stalks Kong and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kong's face. Kong staggers backwards, shaken.

Kong scores with a takedown into Shepard's guard.
Shepard wants to stand and escape but Kong is having none of it.
Kong trying to control but Shepard is working from the bottom.

Kong gets to his feet. Shepard looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Shepard misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shepard is breathing heavily.
Horrible takedown by Kong or perhaps it was just good defense by Shepard which made him look bad.

Shepard gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Kong thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Kong drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Shepard manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kong has Shepard in his guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Alan Shepard will probably get the nod.
