The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trombley drives through with a takedown into guard. guy is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Trombley trying to control the position from guard on top but guy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. guy is working an open guard so Trombley takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. guy throws out a loose jab but Trombley uses good head movement to avoid it. Adam Trombley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. guy slips a jab and a cross from Trombley.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. guy connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Trombley momentarily.

and guy counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Trombley throws a left and a right that both miss
and guy counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Trombley's guard now. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Trombley wants to stand and escape but guy is having none of it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. guy wants to pass the guard but Trombley is keeping the position. guy would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Trombley is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. guy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Trombley pinned against the cage. Trombley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for normal guy. That's going to take a lot out of him. guy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Trombley tries to lock up and control but guy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Trombley is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

MacAngus is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! MacAngus slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. MacAngus wants to get back to full guard. MacAngus looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zombie wants to stand but MacAngus has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. MacAngus is pressing down on Zombie's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Zombie won't allow MacAngus to sweep him here. MacAngus has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Zombie should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, MacAngus has tightened it up now! Zombie should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Vatali! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sammy Zakowski! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Alyssa Summers and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vatali throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Zakowski shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vatali pinned against the cage. Vatali gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Vatali gets a clinch. Zakowski tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Vatali digs a right hand underneath Zakowski's ribcage. Zakowski let out a lung full of air as it connected. A short body shot lands from Vatali as the two fighters clinch.

Zakowski looks gassed! Vatali scores with a nice hook to the head. A short left from Vatali. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Vatali lands with a left to the head. Vatali manages to break the clinch.

It looks like Sammy Zakowski has been cut. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vatali lands a strong strike to the head of Zakowski. That's dazed him! Vatali looking to finish here. Zakowski is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Vatali lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
