0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bobby Sappy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Juha Virtanen! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Virtanen shoots in but Sappy avoids the takedown attempt easily. Sappy fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sappy scores with a takedown into Virtanen's guard. Sappy throwing strikes but missing. Virtanen keeping moving, preventing Sappy from controlling successfully. Sappy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Virtanen on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sappy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Sappy is looking to work some ground and pound but Virtanen has wrist control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Sappy trying to control but Virtanen is working from the bottom. Virtanen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Virtanen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sappy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sappy trying to control the position from guard on top but Virtanen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Bobby Sappy will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Virtanen is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Sappy pulls his head out easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sappy not landing any meaningful shots this time. Sappy is taking a breather. Virtanen says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sappy throws a nice looking combination but Virtanen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Virtanen fails with a takedown attempt. Virtanen tries for a takedown but Sappy circles away easily and Sappy counters with a takedown into side control. Sappy working away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sappy landing strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sappy fails with the takedown and Virtanen counters with a takedown into side control. Sappy stops Virtanen from passing to mount. Virtanen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sappy, who protects the arm well. Virtanen is looking to take a break and control but Sappy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Virtanen is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sappy has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. I wouldn't like to be where Sappy is right now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sappy is looking to regain half guard here but Virtanen keeps moving and retains side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sappy pushes Virtanen away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Virtanen gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Juha Virtanen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Sappy throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Virtanen prevents Sappy from escaping the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Juha Virtanen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sappy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

I think Popov might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ой то не вечеp. Haaker comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Im Not Your Boyfriend kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haaker chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Popov throws a right hand that Haaker ducks under and follows up with a left that Haaker also avoids with ease. Popov has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Haaker throws a series of punches but Popov moves out of range. Haaker has managed to clinch.
Popov can't break the clinch.
Popov wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Popov is trying to break free. Popov wants to get back to striking at distance but Haaker won't allow it.
Popov takes a shot to the head. Haaker breaks the clinch.

Popov throws a series of punches but Haaker avoids them all with ease. Popov misses with a jab, cross combination.
Popov throws a right and a left that Haaker avoids nicely. Haaker tries to bum rush Popov with a series of wild strikes but Popov uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Haaker throws a front kick that sends Popov stumbling back into the cage. Haaker clinches with his opponent.

Haaker uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Popov.
Haaker rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Popov moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Haaker misses with a double jab.
Haaker throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Popov. Haaker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Popov, pushing him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haaker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Popov crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Haaker - the referee stops the clock and Popov gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Haaker. Popov manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Popov needs to keep his hands up - Haaker had a free shot at his head there. Popov throws a right and a left that Haaker avoids nicely. Popov misses the shot to the body. Haaker shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Popov gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Ruslan Popov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Haaker scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Popov is rocked! Haaker lands with a big right hook that stumbles Popov - he's out on his feet here! Haaker follows up with another monster hook that separates Popov from consciousness! Popov falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Haaker stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hannu fails with a takedown attempt. Torsk looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Hannu closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Torsk to the mat! Torsk manages to get full guard. Hannu forces his way into half guard. Hannu performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Hannu wants to take a breather but Torsk is having none of it. Hannu with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Ground and pound from Hannu. Hannu throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Torsk blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hannu. Torsk is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hannu scores with a couple of nice shots.

Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Torsk. Torsk knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hannu on the ground. Hannu thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. A nice elbow there by Hannu. Hannu tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Hannu has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Torsk holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Hannu tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hannu throwing strikes here but Torsk is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Hannu takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Hannu looking to secure an arm triangle but Torsk defends it well. Hannu looking to ground and pound but Torsk is blocking nicely.

The fighters circle momentarily. Hannu darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Hannu swats away the attempt to clinch by Torsk. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Hannu drives through with a takedown into guard. Hannu trying to control the position from guard on top but Torsk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hannu drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Hannu seems to have locked his on tight now - Torsk screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Hannu, as he picks up the win!

Smith closes the distance but Bittbull moves to the side and Bittbull counters with a body kick that stops Smith in his tracks momentarily. Bittbull lands a head kick!

Bittbull controlling the position easily from mount. Bittbull really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bittbull looking to control but Smith is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jose Bittbull just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bittbull lands with a slapping head kick. Bittbull drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bittbull stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Bittbull lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bittbull. Bittbull shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Bittbull sitting and controlling from the half guard. Bittbull trying to pass the guard but Smith defending well. Bittbull seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Smith does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Smith is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Bittbull wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working.

Bittbull has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Smith avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Bittbull jumps into guard, dragging Smith to the mat.
Smith throwing strikes but missing. Smith tries to stand but Bittbull is controlling from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bittbull is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Bittbull ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Bittbull throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Bittbull scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Smith is trying to stand up here but Bittbull is controlling him well. That's two minutes gone in the round. Bittbull stops Smith from standing up. Smith trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Bittbull controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Smith wants to stand and escape but Bittbull is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A head kick from Bittbull lands but Smith takes it in his stride.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice body kick from Bittbull. Smith gets caught flat footed, as Bittbull shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Smith will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bittbull stops Smith from standing up. Smith kicks Bittbull off and gets to his feet. Smith throws a jab but it's blocked by Bittbull. Smith throws a combination that misses and Bittbull counters with a takedown into side control. Smith is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bittbull asserts his dominance and retains side control. Smith is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bittbull wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working. Smith prevents Bittbull from improving position. Smith tries to buck Bittbull off but Bittbull is having none of it. Bittbull advances to full mount. Bittbull landing strikes, looking to finish! Smith really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Jose Bittbull showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Smith misses with a takedown and Bittbull counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bittbull. Bittbull has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Smith regains guard immediately. Bittbull gets to his feet. Smith looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Smith gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Bittbull controls from within his opponent's guard. Smith is looking to stand up but Bittbull isn't so interested in that idea. Smith has his feet on Bittbull's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Smith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bittbull counters with a big head kick but Smith shrugs it off. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bittbull gets the takedown into side control. Smith is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Bittbull has just dragged him back down to the mat. Smith sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Smith manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Bittbull prevents Smith from getting back to his feet. Bittbull trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom. Smith pushes Bittbull off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Bittbull ducks under a wild hook from Smith. Smith swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bittbull counters with a head kick. Smith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bittbull counters with a two punch combo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ashley Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bittbull must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bittbull is standing up over Smith. Smith looks to escape but Bittbull dives into side control.

Bittbull thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. A lull in the action here as Bittbull stalls from top position. Smith looks frustrated here - throwing a couple of shots from the bottom though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Bittbull throws a nice head kick!
Smith feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Bittbull is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakki tries to land a front kick but Ahlberg steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Nakki thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Ahlberg if he has to take too many more of those.

Nakki goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Ahlberg moves out of range of the body kick. Oooooooooooh, not good. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ahlberg has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ahlberg and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Nakki jabbing away but nothing is landing. Ahlberg slips a jab from Nakki.
